FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2022
Each Friday, or so it seems: Maybe it's a scheduled thing we just don't know about. Our Internet service seems to go out many Fridays at 2 P.M.
It comes back on as 5 P.M. nears. People, we're just sayin'!
Added insight: Admit it! Whenever your Internet service goes out, you instantly fear that it will never come on again.
Experts tell us that's normal.
No, not normal, that's due to your larger sized amygdala, you right wing nut.
ReplyDeleteI just told my old man that he has a larger sized amygdala and he said, “You know it, baby”.
ReplyDeleteWell, MY amygdala brings all the girls to the yard. And they're like, it's bigger than yours. So I got that going for me.
DeleteIt would be easy to create an uber-type service for these situations. When your internet goes out, you could text someone and they would come with a mobile connection. Then when the internet comes back, you could sent an email for them to come pick up the mobile connection. (Or you could just buy one for emergencies.)
ReplyDeleteOr make your phone a hotspot. Personally, I drive to the nearest McDonald's and use their wifi over fries and a soda. But I save that for when I am playing an online bridge game.
DeleteMost people have WiFi and a cell phone with a data plan, so if one goes out, you’ve got the other.
ReplyDelete“ ISP attacks again! ”
ReplyDeleteAnything to say about the attack on Pelosi’s husband? No? More blather about an isolated “incident” involving a coach losing his job because he violated state policy in a state where you don’t live?
“Democrat House Speaker Nancy
DeletePelosi's daughter appeared to praise a violent attack on Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Sunday after Paul
announced that he had contracted
the coronavirus, which originated in
China.
Pelosi's daughter, Christine Pelosi,
wrote on Twitter in response to Sen.
Mitt Romney (R-UT) announcing that he was going into quarantine: "Rand Paul's neighbor was right."
Not very nice, but that doesn’t mean her dad deserved to be attacked. Nor is Christine Pelosi a politician or thought leader or cable news host. She expressed a callous personal opinion, much like the things Cecelia says here daily. Paul Pelosi himself is an innocent bystander whereas Rand Paul IS a typically unpleasant politician. A neighbor isn’t the same as a violent extremist egged on by MAGA rhetoric and Q-Anon fanaticism.
DeleteFalse equivalency.
11:30: Did I bring politics into it? No. You did that.
DeletePaul Pelosi was recently convicted of DUI and causing injury. He was driving around endangering lives, negligent and entitled. He doesn't deserve violence just because his daughter praises brutal violence against others for their political views as does his wife who doubled down on her threat to "punch" Trump.
Delete"Pelosi offered to officers his driver's license along with an "11-99 Foundation" card when asked for identification, the complaint said. The 11-99 Foundation supports CHP employees and their families."
"He doesn't deserve violence..."
DeleteThis is not just violence but stochastic violence. That means the right wing extremists who set this off don't who and when it will happen. Regardless of his DUI, Paul Pelosi is not a politician, he is a spouse and bystander. Further, the person who attacked him had broken in to find and kill Nancy Pelosi, who has no DUI and who only threatened to punch Trump after he threatened her life during the Capitol Building insurrection, while she was trying to get troops to defend Congress (something Trump should have been doing).
"DALLAS — The heavily armed sniper who gunned down police officers in downtown Dallas, leaving five of them dead, specifically set out to kill as many white officers as he could, officials said Friday. He was a military veteran who had served in Afghanistan, and he kept an arsenal in his home that included bomb-making materials.
DeleteThe gunman turned a demonstration against fatal police shootings this week of black men in Minnesota and Louisiana from a peaceful march focused on violence committed by officers into a scene of chaos and bloodshed aimed against them.
The shooting was the kind of retaliatory violence that people have feared through two years of protests around the country against deaths in police custody, forcing yet another wrenching shift in debates over race and criminal justice that had already deeply divided the nation."

In the weeks before traveling to the Washington, DC area, the man accused of attempting to murder Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh researched how to assassinate individuals and said he would be “shooting for 3” justices, according to a search warrant application from the FBI.
Nicholas Roske, who prosecutors say traveled to Kavanaugh’s home with a pistol, extra ammunition, a tactical knife and other gear, looked up terms like “most effective place to stab someone” and “quietest semi auto rifle,” the application states.
As part of the investigation, FBI agents are requesting search warrants for Google accounts and online chatlogs they believe belong to Roske and included searches and online messages from Roske.
In an online conversation on the messaging app Discord, Roske told an individual in May that he was “gonna stop roe v wade from being overturned” and that he would “remove some people from the supreme court,” according to the FBI.
“Two dead judges ain’t gonna do nothing,” the unnamed user told Roske. “You would die before you killed them all.”
Roske replied: “yeah but I could get at least one, which would change the votes for decades to come, and I am shooting for 3.”
Oh please. Get outta here with that bullshit. There is no comparison between the left and right when it comes to violence. There's been WAY more violence and threats of violence from the right since at least Clinton's presidency. And it's getting worse because of the increasingly unhinged and irresponsible propaganda/political rhetoric vomited out on a daily basis by Trump and right-wing media figures like Tucker Carlson.
DeleteAnd why are you mentioning that stuff about Paul Pelosi's DUI, and whatever their daughter tweeted, etc.? The topic is a brutal assault on Paul Pelosi. What exactly are trying to say by mentioning that other, unrelated stuff? You're obviously implying that that other stuff is relevant to the attack somehow. Please enlighten us all as to how the things you've mentioned are relevant to the attack.
DeleteWhat if the victim was Derek Chauvin and not Paul Pelosi? What if you had a loved one who was killed by an old man who drunkenly drives his Porsche?
Deletethe fuck are you talking about? someone once drove under the influence, so it's ok that he was beaten with a hammer?? you need to have your head examined. and the ageism and classism are a nice touch. you can add them to your racism and fundamentalism.
DeleteBob needs help.
