Bennett ate.

Was it as American as Velveeta, or was it some foreign stuff like Provolone, or (God forbid) Brie?

Dowd doesn't say.

It's this kind sloppy, unsubstantial reporting that is the root cause of our nation's decline.gravymeisterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16075831177588700301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8611810694571930415.post-3857807710927569162013-01-02T14:01:06.414-05:002013-01-02T14:01:06.414-05:00Dowd's reaction to Boo's article probably ...Dowd's reaction to Boo's article probably went something like this.Matt in the Crownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02083162679471045642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8611810694571930415.post-82946653064434296432013-01-02T12:38:33.875-05:002013-01-02T12:38:33.875-05:00Reading Dowd's column this morning, I was remi...Reading Dowd's column this morning, I was reminded of Journalism 101 profile puff pieces often appearing in college newspapers or small suburban afternoon papers (do any still exist?). It didn't strike me as something belonging on the Op-Ed page of the world's greatest newspaper. I came away from the piece not knowing if Bennett was good or bad for voting against a compromise bill hated by members of both parties but passed mostly by members of his own.

Maybe there's symbolic value in the fact that he was consuming fried balls and likes his sandwiches cheesy. Whose balls were fried, Boener's or Obama's? Who's in the sandwich; who's the meat and who's the bread? What would have made the bill cheesier?

By God, there's got to be a message in there somewhere.Jeeves Stumphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17716700263908484003noreply@blogger.com
