Later Somerby asks who is worse, the press misogynists like Gutfeld or the blue media who ignores Gutfeld? (It isn’t as if the press ignores misogyny entirely.) Obviously, Gutfeld is worse, why does Somerby need to ask?
A grown man who marries a girl at age 16 has no respect for her and both feet of clay. Romanticizing this situation makes Somerby a huge asshole. Child marriage is illegal outide Southern throwback states because it is harmful to the girls who are denied the chance to grow up and choose their own lives.
Epstein seduced his underage girls by grooming them first, but even on a wedding night, sex with a child is still rape because the child cannot give informed consent. What child would willingly agree to cut short her teen years to be a domestic servant (setting aside that some families already treat their kids as such). This is why school attendance is compulsory and paid child labor is illegal, except for those beknighted Southern backwaters. The right is working hard to repeal child protections.

The Catholics and Fundamentalists will sacrifice a child's earthly future to protect their eternal soul. That means they urged parents to marry off a girl who was raped to her rapist (or another willing man) rather than suffer the scandal arising from her rape. Courts in the US have retained the right to approve such forced marriages at their discretion. Newer laws are rethinking that because the outcomes for girls forced into marriage are very bad, worse than if the girl remained single.

There are men who will deliberately rape a young girl of their acquaintance in order to get her parents to allow him to marry her at a very young age. Laws governing early marriage are for the benefit of parents, families, the church, not the girl involved. Now that abortion is no longer available to young girls who have been raped or seduced, allowing her parents to take the easy way out for themselves is child abuse. The best option was abortionm, especially given the greater health risks of child pregnancy.

For example, what does "lauded" mean? It implies the Blue elites are being praised and honored and who does that to "worse" people? No one, so the answer to Somerby's question is in his own words. And what does the word "elite" mean?
elite definition: "An elite refers to a select, small group of people who hold the highest status, power, wealth, or specialized skill within a society or organization."
Somerby doesn't specify any criterion when he asks who is worse, but because the word elite refers to the highest, it seems a contradiction for any elite to be worse.
But Somerby has done his job and earned his influencer pay the minute he casts a negative shadow over mention of Blue America. He doesn't have to make any sense.
It still shocks me to know that Somerby ever spent any time in an elementary school classroom. It is evil to befuddle children. Somerby appears incapable of doing anything that would help kids understand their world and their personal experiences.

Somerby thinks that if a person insults both white and black people that means there is no racism involved. That is wrong. Setting aside the nature of the insults, if a person insults Michelle Obama but also insults white Democrats, that doesn’t eliminate race. It makes the guy a racist and a conservative jackass both. This is especially true because the wife and kids of elected politicians are less partisan and thus less targets of political fighting than candidates are. She was attacked for being black, whereas white Democrats are not attacked for being white but for being lefty.
Most concerning is this specious argument by Somerby. He seems to be losing his reasoning ability.
