On Fifth Avenue, shot in the foot: It's one of the sitting president's most famous statements.
He was still just a candidate then. NPR reported this in January 2016:
Donald Trump: 'I Could...Shoot Somebody, And I Wouldn't Lose Any Voters'
With less than two weeks to go until the Iowa caucus, Donald Trump remains characteristically confident about his chances. In fact, the Republican front-runner is so confident, he says his supporters would stay loyal even if he happened to commit a capital offense.
"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" Trump remarked at a campaign stop at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. "It's, like, incredible."
The businessman, whose Trump Tower stands on the major Manhattan thoroughfare, cracked the joke Saturday to a receptive audience at the Christian college.
Back then, it all seemed possible. For better or worse, much of it actually was!
Despite losing the popular vote, the imaginary shootist was elected president that year. Just last month, on October 11, the sitting president made a somewhat similar statement:
Trump Tells Cheering Crowd: ‘I Could Say the Stupidest Things and You’d Clap’
President Donald Trump spoke before an adoring crowd in Tennessee Saturday, telling his fans, “I could say the stupidest things and you’d clap.”
Trump questioned why he was even in Tennessee since Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) and Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) were doing so well in their U.S. Senate and governor races, respectively.
“What am I doing in Tennessee?” Trump asked. “So, three times I won the election, the big election three times. I got screwed the second time because they cheated. They cheated. We cannot let that happen again."
[...]
“It’s like, like, I mean, it’s amazing. When you stand up here, it’s just like, the love,” Trump marveled. “I could say the stupidest things and you’d clap. ‘Oh, I love you so—’ It’s true.
“But we don’t say the stupidest things, we say things of common sense. We say things that make sense..."
So the gentleman said. He could say the stupidest things, he said. He then proceeded to prove it, saying for the ten millionth time that he was cheated out of his win in 2020, when he sought re-election.
We aren't here to beat up on President Trump today. In fact, though, he has insisted on saying the dumbest possible things—such as his endless claims about getting cheated in elections—and the things he says have been getting been dumber and weirder and stranger as the past year has struggled along.
Presumably, that's because of the "serious, undiagnosed and untreated psychiatric disorders" and the "obvious cognitive declines" attributed to him by nis niece. Presumably, those syndromes help explain his increasing volume of weird statements and erratic behaviors.
As a general rule, people who are seriously disordered or cognitively impaired haven't chosen to be so diminished. But as the president's statements got dumber and wilder, he was in effect shooting himself in the foot—and the statements got so dumb, and became so numerous, that he did shed millions of votes from millions of voters in the process.
He was now shooting himself on Fifth Avenue—shooting himself in the foot. As he did so, our journalists kept refusing to cover the medical possibilities, and the possible future dangers, involved in this state of affairs.
We start by saying that Scarborough's analysts were largely on target yesterday with respect to the Senate races. On yesterday's Morning Joe, these were their predictions about the number of Senate seats with which Democrats would emerge:
Senate seats to be held by Democrats:
Jonathan Martin: 53 seats
John Heilemann: 54 seats
Mark McKinnon: 55 seats
Claire McCaskill: 53 seats
Yesterday, those predictions seemed quite upbeat. In fact, Democrats are currently in line to hold 54 Senate seats, with Alaska and Mississippi still undecided. The number could go as high as 56!
Let us say it again. Joe Scarborough should be honored for having created the most intelligent discussions in American broadcast news.
This morning, Scarborough was trying to sort through all the victories produced by Democratic candidates. His favorite win was recorded by Gina Hinojosa, the new governor-elect of Texas. He saw her seven-point win over Greg Abbott, the incumbent Republican governor, as payback for all the mayhem aimed at Hispanics by ICE.
For ourselves, the wins we most love were those recorded by a pair of doctors named Annie and Amy—Annie Andrews in the South Carolina Senate race, Amy Acton in the race to serve as Ohio's governor.
We loved the messaging those savvy candidates presented. We think of Jim Burden, Willa Cather's the gender-flipped narrator of Willa Cather's My Antonia. We think of his admiration for the moral greatness of the immigrant women who came into Nebraska and managed to build the greatest and most prosperous farms in that emerging state.
Acton and Andrews and Bottoms oh my—and we pray that Candidate Peltola will find her way through in Alaska. In the face of the frequently ugly "masculinism" of MAGA World, we Blues turned to some brilliants messaging by some highly skilled female candidates to show us how to win in the states where Democrats struggle to win.
There's a great deal more to say about the various types of wins. We'll expect to go there tomorrow. For today, we'll flash back to this:
Earlier this year, the Supreme Court ruled, perhaps reasonably, against the creation of certain "safe seats" in House elections—"safe seats" built upon racial gerrymandering. When that happened, we suggested that we Blues should stop complaining and do this instead:
Dare to Struggle Dare to Win!
Dare to Struggle Dare to Win! Go out and win some freaking seats! In Mississippi, Scott Colom undertook to do just that on the Senate level.
As we type, Colom is ahead of the incumbent Republican senator by 43 votes, with some votes still being counted. We're hoping he scores a win. We're glad he decided to try.
At any rate, the sitting president has been shooting himself in the foot with dangerous gusto of late. In the process, he did manage to lose a very large number of voters!
A vast assortment of Democrats won. As he kept making his very strange comments, quite a few folks didn't clap.
Tomorrow: Key presentations from Talarico, Hamilton, El-Sayed and such
ReplyDeleteYah, yah, yah, I get it, you retarded Dumbocrats are happy that retarded Dumbocrats will control the House and the Senate.
On the positive side: paralyzed government is the best government. And paralyzed government is what we'll have for the next two years!
Just wait till the hearings begin…
DeleteYeah, I know, jerking off is your, retarded Dumbocrats, favorite pastime.
DeleteHaha.
DeleteWay to stay on message, trumptard. But don't go overdo it. There'll be a lot of poo to fling the next two years.
DeleteMy black cat, Leroy Eldridge Cleaver strongly dislikes Mao. Mao’s high-pitched shrieks hurt his sore ear.
DeleteCecelia, this is Puddintain. I love you and I want what’s best for you. It’s not too late. You can still join the winning team.
ReplyDeleteAnonymouse Puddintain 12:59pm, I’ll be fine. Focus on yourself and getting out of your mama’s basement.
DeleteCecelia’s perverse compulsion to come here and act like a shithead to somehow feel better about “her” low self esteem is pathological.
DeleteThat was not the real Puddintain. I always address you as Jeff. Nevertheless, the fake Puddintain was correct: you can still join the winning team. I, the real Puddintain, urge you, the real Jeff, to join us. Leave the magats behind; do what’s best for yourself and your country. The invitation is open!
DeleteAnonymouse 1:44pm, I understand you’re very happy, but let’s not get caught away with ourselves. I’m getting a whiff of some sort of Lifetime movie or something, you’ll be back to yourself by tonight.
DeleteCecelia, you’re so caught away with yourself, you’be addressed a reply to a non-existent comment. There is no 1:44pm.
DeleteAnonymouse 2:013, don’t make Puddintain’s offer into more hogwash than it is.
DeleteWhy is this garbage cluttering up the comments?
DeletePudding’, your mama and her cohort are after you.
DeleteThis copium is hilarious and enjoyable.
DeleteCecelia's squealing has made this day all the better, I hope he continues, it is sooooooo satisfying.
Anonymouse 3:26pm, if you have to declare something like that, it’s more put on than a speech from CommaLa Harris.
DeleteHaha.
DeleteSomerby is claiming ownership of this Democratic victory because he told candidates to try to win. Riiiight.
ReplyDeleteSomerby seems oblivious to the huge turnout by minorities in response to the perceived effort by the right to deny their voting rights. They didn’t need to be told to come out strong by an asshole like Somerby, who today refuses to blame Trump for this huge Republican loss, saying: “We aren’t here to beat up on President Trump today” and repeating his own diagnosis of Trump’s mental illness.
Why was it OK for Republicans to put such a man into office and let him wreak havoc? They all bear responsibility for Trump, as does Somerby.
Agree.
DeleteWe’ll leave the beating up of President Trump to Republicans. Meanwhile, Somerby’s advice that we must pity Trump in order to win, which seemed idiotic at the time he said it, now seems existentially misguided.
Delete"Somerby’s advice that we must pity Trump in order to win"
DeleteYou're conflating two separate lines of thought of Somerby's:
a) He seems to want us to regard Trump as the victim of a mental disorder, which could evoke our pity; and
b) in order to beat Republicans, he advises us to not be so blindly partisan.
Nope, 1:50. He said it explicitly at one point.
DeleteOh, and by the way: how’d that “blind partisanship” go for us?
DeleteIt does seem that blind partisanship has decimated the Republican party.
Delete"He said it explicitly at one point."
DeleteNope, 2:14. He didn't say it explicitly and you've provided no evidence he did.
He has said it repeatedly. Where have you been?
Delete2:54: You are being played by Somerby.
DeleteWhen Dems followed the kind of advice Bob spews, they won some battles but lost the war, they lost the American people. Now that the Dems have awoken and cast aside people like Bob, Dems are starting to win back the American people.
DeleteBob's strategy of rolling over for Trump and the Republicans was never meant to enable Dems to succeed, it was always a right wing ploy from a right winger.
In reality, it was Dems becoming more aggressive and more punitive and more woke that led to them winning big yesterday.
It's always helpful when an anonymous stranger tells someone they're being "played", without providing any evidence or argumentation. Such a smart comment to make.
DeleteHear! Hear! Spot on. I agree 4:14! Whoever composed that comment was being an asshole.
DeleteBlues didn’t stop complaining, didn’t follow Somerby’s “advice”, and that’s why they won.
ReplyDeletePoor Somerby, eating crow for breakfast.
I know, Pretending to be pleased by last night's rout. Thank God you're here to tell us what he really thinks.
DeleteAnd now the complaints about holding Trump and his cronies accountable will begin.
DeleteLawyer up.
DeleteAnonymices, it’s absolutely no surprise that an electoral rout is less important than your War On Somerby.
ReplyDeleteAnd it’s absolutely no surprise that your party’s epic failure and Somerby’s woefully bad takes/advice is less important to you than your War On Anonymices.
DeleteAnonymouse 1:36pm, anonymices are my contrarians. On the other hand, the only foe you’re truly after is Bob.
DeleteSomerby represents the right wing.
DeleteAgree.
DeleteAnd you two represent the stupid wing.
DeleteSomerby has spent the last two years faulting democrats and liberals for doing and saying things that he claimed would ensure their defeat.
DeleteGood God, no, he never claimed our partisanship was "ensuring" our defeat. He did say it made it harder for us to win.
DeleteHmm, ok, not “ensuring” but “making it harder.” Whatever. Didn’t turn out that way, did it?
Delete"Presumably, that's because of the "serious, undiagnosed and untreated psychiatric disorders" and the "obvious cognitive declines" attributed to him by nis niece. Presumably, those syndromes help explain his increasing volume of weird statements and erratic behaviors."
ReplyDeleteEvery fucking member of the cabinet and trump nominee who has had to testify in the Congress and Senate have refused to answer the question, like who won the 2020 election.
Are these people all fucking suffering from "serious, undiagnosed and untreated psychiatric disorders" ????
No, so then fuck off with your pathetic excuses. Nasty immoral people are fucking nasty and don't fucking care what the consequences are. These people all need to be placed on a SpaceX shit and shot off to start a colony on Mars.
"Are these people all fucking suffering from "serious, undiagnosed and untreated psychiatric disorders" ????"
DeleteIt's actually a physical disorder known in the vernacular as 'spinal disappearance.'
Which can be abbreviated to "fucking cunts"
Delete“We Blues keep looking for ways to lose this war of the all against all”
ReplyDeleteThat was Somerby’s pearl clutching, that particular time about the redistricting debate in the wake of the elimination of minority majority districts recently.
Somerby got it wrong.
DeleteAgain.
Got what wrong? What does "looking for ways to lose this war of all against all" even mean, if no context is provided?
DeleteSomerby says Dems focus too much on litigating Republican corruption, too much on fighting racism.
DeleteSomerby says this hurts Dems in elections, but the opposite is true.
Somerby got it wrong, yet again.
It was from May 11, 2026. That was literally the title of his post that day. Read it here: https://dailyhowler.blogspot.com/2026/05/all-against-all-we-blues-keep-looking.html?m=1
DeleteIn that post, he says things like:
“the tide does perhaps seem to have turned against the Democrats in the ongoing, highly unusual, mid-census redistricting war.”
“We're now suck in a deeply consequential partisan war. And, though your mileage may differ from ours, it seems to us that those of us in Blue America keep looking for ways to lose it!”
Yup. I remember Somerby was wrong about redistricting. He suggested Dems laying down and letting Rethugs go wild would be the best policy. We Dems in MO fought back hard on redistricting and won, keeping KC. And my dreadful Republican Congresscritter (MO 2) got her ass whooped yesterday. Never thought that would happen what with her non-stop "it all began with Drag Queen story hour," Johnny getting his balls chopped off at lunch, and her opponent calling himself a "flaming liberal" on nonstop ads.
DeleteFirst, let me say how gratifying it is that a Somerby critic is actually able to point to an actual quote of Somerby's to support their criticism(!)
DeleteMy hat is off to you.. Having said that, the quotes don't support what you want them to.
You seem to take both quotes as predictions by Somerby that the Dems would lose the midterms.
The first is his rather banal observation that the tide was turning against us in the redistricting wars, as indeed it was. But that observation is a statement about redistricting, not about election outcomes.
You also quote Bob saying Dems were "looking for ways to lose this partisan war." This is one of his oft-stated criticisms of Dem tactics, but again, not a prediction that they will fail.
At least you have allowed a reasonable discussion to take place. Thank you.
His criticism as you call it turned out to be wrong. He was also complaining in that post about democrats describing the extinction of majority minority districts as “apartheid”, as if that would alienate voters. In fact, the reverse happened. The implication is that Dems should refrain from doing and saying these things. He clearly believed they would harm democrats at the ballot box. Not sure how you can argue he wasn’t saying that.
DeleteHard to say what Somerby actually believes, so talking in such terms is unjustified. He may be saying what he does to advance partisan goals, not because he really believes it.
DeleteI agree that Somerby has been giving Democrats bad advice for a long time.
IMO Trump's energetic politicking was counter productive. More people were voting against Trump than for him.
ReplyDeleteEnergetic? He looked and sounded weak and incoherent.
DeleteEnergetic and momentous.
DeleteYes people tend to vote against demented morons who deliberately work to hurt voters lives. You a real fucking idiot David.
DeleteWorse than that, Dinky. The oligarchs realize Trump is box-office poison and can't get rid of him fast enough.
DeleteWell David the Troll got one thing right about the convicted felon, he was very energetic when it came to discussing big butts. Truly the most important thang impacting American lives. We like big butts!
DeleteMaggots like David were always fond of telling us that we did not understand why they supported Trump.
DeleteWell, fuckface, you still have no clue why he had his ass handed to him yesterday.
David has to tell himself that voters were only voting against Trump, when in reality they were also voting against republicans.
DeleteOne pundit predicts that the US election will lead to European type policies with European type results.
ReplyDeleteFor now—welcome to Europe, and not the nostalgic one from our guidebooks, the Europe we see before us today, with riots engulfing cities across the continent from France to Albania, of all places.
https://americanrefugees.substack.com/p/welcome-to-europe?publication_id=2747685&post_id=223471778&isFreemail=true&r=131lq&triedRedirect=true
go fuck yourself, dickhead.
Delete"one pundit" - are you fucking kidding me
Yes, it makes perfect sense. The Dems win big, thus there will be riots. Really?
Delete
DeleteWhy yes, it does make sense, methinks. Because most (if not all) riots happen in Dumbocrat-controlled states and cities. And there's going to be more of these unfortunate places now.
Anonymouse 2:58pm, you didn’t win the presidency. They’ll be unrest and legal maneuvering over Trump’s policies as to our borders. Globalism will be the battle.
DeleteLegal maneuvering. That sounds scary. Stick to your book of 1001 Incoherent Insults for Trolls. You’re out over your skis when you attempt to be serious.
Delete3:12 Haha.
DeleteCope and seethe is all they've got now.
DeleteSad.
And funny.
Anonymouse 3:23pm, “legal maneuvering” as to our borders doesn’t sound sillily ominous, childish, or pretentious to you. What it sounds like is something you're waiting for and is obviously coming. We all know this.
DeleteDavid, there are no riots in Israel. Pack your bags.
DeleteHaha
DeleteYour attempt at mind reading misses the mark by, oh I'd say 180 degrees. As usual. Keep trying.
DeleteCC fears the Jews. The Jews shall not supplant us, right CC? Stink to the "winning" memes you fascist piece of shit.
DeleteAnonymouse 3:43pm, you want a stable society? Bring in the Jews. Nowadays, they also come with enemies that are just this side of hell. We’ll take Jews anyway.
DeleteDavid, could you please explain the Trump tariff formula?; and how it isn't a tax on the people?; and what specific industries it has helped grow jobs? Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
DeleteHe has gone off the deep end, and all we can do is sit back and enjoy it.
DeleteAppreciate the boost, my man Cecelia, never stop squealing, it is music to our ears.
So CC is now saying she is on the side of hell. Figures.
DeleteThe gop and their media have been catastrophically wrong about so much, but that will never change the mind of cultists like DiC and Cecelia.
DeleteJoe Biden, Democrat, was elected in 2020. There were riots in Washington DC, 6 January, 2021. Coincidence? I think not.
DeleteWow. Never thought of it that way before. If I had, yesterday I would have voted like Trump was on the ballot. Oh wait, I did. Damn, all confused now.
DeleteAnonymouse 3:52pm, you are not cute when you’re coy (or any other time), we know what’s going to happen at the borders.
DeleteYes the borders around your personality are crumbling.
DeleteAnd frankly it is fun to watch.
Sorry that you are confused.
DeleteHaha.
DeleteCC "the border" is still maintained by Trumps Dept. of Homeland Security. So now you are saying they will let insane criminals from the asylum back into the country to help their chances in 2028? Figures, Rethuglicans hate America.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:06pm, and you love crumbling borders. No doubt.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:13pm, who are you kidding? The next couple of years will be filled with legal battles as to borders.
DeleteHey, that's the way the cookie crumbles.
DeleteYou can take your lumps, or keep whining.
Either way, it is invigorating to Dems.
Your comments border on the ridiculous then jump off a cliff Cecccc.
DeleteI guess “legal battles” are like the riots engulfing Europe, so that pundit was right.
DeleteYou’re fucking comical, Cec. The mad king has been in power for two years and hasn’t proposed one piece of immigration reform legislation.
Delete"we know what’s going to happen at the borders" I just hope they let in some good hard working brown Christians to do the construction, farm, and heavy industrial work pampered lazy ass white kids won't go near. Growing our GDP depends on it.
DeleteTrump border wars kill Republican pols. CC - we need more border wars.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:28pm, they’ll be a trickle. The Islamists will be the flood.
DeleteWhere are the islamists waiting to flood in? Mexico?
DeleteCecelia,
DeleteEven worse, it'll be men.
Islamists, like your favorite very scary class of people, Drag Queens, are each less than 1% of the population. But do go on and on and on and on and on and on with your fearmongering for an audience of 1,300 on this here blog.
DeleteA state with a huge border and a huge Hispanic population, Texas, completely repudiated the republican Party last night. This fact seems to have flown over the heads of our MAGA commenters here.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:42pm, all military age.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:45pm, to your point they voted the other way two years ago when borders were wide open. hmmm…
DeleteNever give up on a "winning" issue CC.
DeleteDo tell how were the borders wide open? I have seen the border many times, and it is so open it is a fucking PITA to cross.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:56pm, you’re an anonymouse, you’re coy and all. They let massive amounts of people over the border. It won’t be Hispanics this time.
DeleteHaha.
DeleteUnder Bush's watch the Saudi's overstayed their visas after flying in to spend month's planning and executing 911. Give it up already gramps.
DeleteWe need secure borders to protect Americans who I wouldn't protect by getting a vaccine during a global pandemic that killed millions, because I'm an individual who does what I want---the hell with everybody else.
DeleteTarlov (explaining the economic hardship Americans are experiencing): They know how much money they have [meaning how little]
ReplyDeleteLeavitt: They don't, they got more money in their pockets
Leavitt also threw in misinformation about gas prices, fooling no one.
It is faceplants like these sad attempts at gaslighting, why she was let go as press secretary.
No, she was fired as her gold cross was plated, not solid gold.
DeleteSoul Train was better.
DeleteThe Five is scripted. The old man stopped watching because he became offended by the phony daily Gutfeld takedown of Tarlov. I wish she’d deck him.
DeleteGo punch your dick.
DeleteFox News' ratings have been plummeting this year, their viewership is dying off, literally in some cases.
DeleteSomerby touted their ratings when it helped his right wing agenda, ignores it when the ratings tank.
Anonymouse 4:02pm, you’re uh…beating yours right now.
DeleteHaha.
DeleteI’m not beating it. I’m gently stroking it.
DeleteA historic election.
ReplyDeleteA complete repudiation of Republicans.
Hear! Hear!
DeleteDems ran on getting money out of politics, taxing the wealthy, Medicare For All, more spending on infrastructure, less spending on the military, pro immigration, pro gay, pro trans, pro abortion, and prosecuting people like Trump and Musk.
ReplyDeleteAnd they won.
They won big.
Yay! Now go after the scumbags. Hard.
DeleteDems to Repubs: Lawyer up
Delete
DeleteBullshit, retarded Dumbocrat. Everyone hates you retarded Dumbocrats.
Trump and his party lost on the unpopular war and high gas prices. Which is perfectly natural and has nothing to do with you idiots. In fact, a number of you retards got replaced by DSA fellas.
Corruption was the number one issue.
DeleteShit Mao, you almost make sense. You forgot to say "methinks" though.
DeleteHaha.
DeleteTrump was already the least popular president before the war and gas prices.
DeleteThe DSA stands for all those things listed.
You do sound hateful, but it seems more of an act than genuine.
Mao does sound hateful, but it seems more genuine than an act.
DeleteEveryone hates the people and party that just won a landslide election of historic proportions. But the people and party that lost that same election (because they have Trump's stench all over them), they're okay.
DeleteGood one, trumptard.
4:13 - I think the No. 1 issue is folks are just tired of being gaslit and bullshitted to death. Take DiC, Cecelia, and Mao Jr., please.
DeleteTrump today is already asking: what is to be done about Hegseth?
ReplyDeleteHey will be eliminated with a nationally televised execution by the beautiful reflecting pool.
DeleteA 21 gun salute if you will.
DeleteHa!
DeleteHegseth will step down. Years ahead, he’ll receive some credit as to being an extraordinary strategist among people of both parties who aren’t complete party operatives .
DeleteYou have said some really stupid shit, but Hegseth, extraordinary, and strategist takes the cake. Unless you were talking about emptying a vodka handle.
DeletePart time weekend Fox host wins the war on terror by looking the part. Also, unfortunately, lost to Iran within 96 hours because he hasn't figured out testosterone doesn't stop drones. Please do provide some notes on his extraordinary strategery that will become legend in the future.
DeleteAnonymouse 4:52pm, he ran missions where Iran didn’t know we were coming. He got the Maduro’s out their bed and out of the country without a shot. A talk show host. Give it a couple of years.
DeleteHe did that, or did the B2 bomber do that? Nevermind, "According to a report released by the Congressional Research Service (CRS) in October 2026, the United States military has had 81 aircraft destroyed or damaged since the conflict began on February 28, 2026."
DeleteShots were fired. It was an operation to steal their oil. Give it a couple months to find out into whose pockets.
We knew Hegseth was not qualified when he raped that married Republican woman at a conference.
DeleteShe went to the police so he confessed but tried to claim it was consensual.
Hegseth raped her while cheating on his second wife with the woman that then became his third wife.
So it was hardly surprising when Hegseth bungled the war in Iran, a completely unnecessary war.
Hegseth started the war by maliciously bombing a girl's school, killing many children, and then triple tapped the school to really send the message home.
Maduro's extraction was prearranged, even so our military under incompetent leadership still killed some civilians (total death toll around 100). To be fair, that was more a Trump/Putin/Rubio affair.
Hegseth has also been murdering fisherman in the Caribbean Sea.
Hegseth has a bleak future.
Fishermen, huh?
DeleteEven if suspected drug runners, it is still murder and a war crime. H'mm.
DeleteAny issue with the Mullahs’ strategic positioning of schools?
DeleteWaiting to learn from CC how Iran shot down 81 aircraft they didn't know were coming. Or how Iran forced closure of dozens of our bases, almost like we didn't see them coming isn't it? Or if CC just makes shit up all the time to be an irritant.
DeleteTrump's lost Iran war and resulting increase in fuel pricing devastates Republicans in mid-terms. Very stable genius Cecelia, MORE IRAN WARFIGHTING!!! He's completely changed my mind about the clusterfuck.
DeleteJust give it time. Eventually the genius of Pete Hegseth will be obvious. Give it a couple years. Hahahahaha. That is a pathetic argument.
Delete5:36. I doubt that the aircraft were all in flight when they were destroyed. In all likelihood they were on the ground at bases destroyed. Nonetheless that is an embarrassing and expensive loss.
DeleteRecall something like 35 Predator drones - not the $20- $30,000 Iranian Shaheed drones, our $220 to $330 million a pop were shot down. At least one F15 shot down by Kuwaiti friendly fire. Couple refuel tankers hit on ground, etc. Our military industrial complex has handcuffed us horribly in the age of cheap drones with rapidly advancing capabilities. Why Hicseth wants $1.5 trillion for defense budget. We chewed through a big chunk of our $1.2 million Patriots on cheap missiles and Shaheeds. The doom abides.
DeleteSomerby: This is why we lose!
ReplyDeleteEarth to Somerby: Actually that is how we won.
Somerby turns tail.
David can never improve, I accept that. But I still hope that Cecelia will improve.
ReplyDeleteCecelia is possessed by a demon. She just needs a good old-fashioned exorcism.
DeleteCecelia is a lightweight whose fanciful opinions regarding Trump, Hegseth and their thus far failed conflict in the Middle East are ludicrous.
DeleteCecelia like David, is a nasty fucking bigot.
DeleteWell, that too.
DeletePoor Cecelia. After months of fucking rats, he wakes in a world where he has to fuck his feelings.
DeleteCecilia is a woman, idiot.
DeleteLet’s be nice to Cecelia. Maybe she can be saved.
DeleteCalling women "men" is a troll move (due to the overwhelming majority of rapists and murderers being men). It's akin to claiming Biden and the Democrats had open borders.
DeleteTrolling isn't just for the Right.
The much higher rate of conviction for violent crimes by men than women is evidence of bias in our criminal justice system.
DeleteEven men hate men.
DeleteYoung women are beautiful in a way that other people aren’t. Not little girls, not old ladies, and not men or boys of any age.
DeleteAnonymouse 8:20am, no, you will not be able to save me. I’m not likely to change. All I can do is to try to be brave under the anonymices’ long and endless denunciations of how I am a waste of their time and completely unworthy of their attention. It’s true that I am an object of their Crawfordesque umbrage. What the hell…I like it!
DeleteWhich Crawford are you referring to?
DeleteCecelia, you are worthy of my attention, and I hope you will improve.
DeleteMorning Joe is a joke.
ReplyDeleteHe talks over everybody, especially Mika.
Delete
