The lammo response above really warms my heart.
Bob made his point on this yesterday, it's not the war on Gore, he just has a problem with that finger once it starts to wagging. But get this, I just checked out Kevin Drum's blog, would you believe it, there has been all kinds of dubious and even dishonest stuff, coming straight out of, I know this sounds crazy, ROMNEY's campaign! Maybe TDH will look into some of this once this horse thing blows over.Greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09288008924419574934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8611810694571930415.post-63395321638870343402012-08-10T23:46:28.374-04:002012-08-10T23:46:28.374-04:00You can't get much more anodyne than those sup...You can't get much more anodyne than those supposedly important positive comments, so it's a real stretch to say they contradict the critique. "Under the bus" is an expression that exaggerates (obviously), "gutless weasel" is certainly over the top, but Bob seems not to realize that in August of an election year, it is, in fact, and indeed should be, tribe against tribe. The prime-time MSNBC shows do not pretend to be anything but partisan, a modest counterbalance to the channel that is all propaganda all the time. Anything that works or might work to make anybody dislike Romney (other than lying, which that deletion hardly amounts to) will be tried. The other side will not even exclude lying. (A competent team for Obama would learn how to turn the Romney team's lies against him.)

I, too, wish politicians and their campaign "experts" would figure out how to sell with policy substance. I think they could -- Truman did to a much greater extent -- but that's not the prevailing wisdom of modern campaign teams.

In any case, the idea that the critics are accusing Romney of beating his wife is a strawman. Regardless of any over-the-top language like Drum's, that is not his point.

But 2000 words on this subject in this one post alone out of several? The more words needed to try to persuade readers of some proposition, the more one proves it is questionable.urban legendnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8611810694571930415.post-4389567172121072452012-08-10T20:20:29.254-04:002012-08-10T20:20:29.254-04:00How many women know or care about their husband...How many women know or care about their husband's golf hobby?
