Highly possible.

Some historians may take one side or another in a debate as to the grade level where such discussion should take place.

Some of them may think that children should initially be taught to honor their country and its past, and later delve into its “bitter history” when they are of the age when they can both realize the level of suffering involved and are also aware of the universality of evil.

This approach would tend to make kids more analytical and less emotionally vulnerable to all sorts of political agendas that seek to prey upon emotions rather principles. But an interesting book "Thundersticks" https://www.amazon.com/Thundersticks-Firearms-Violent-Transformation-America/dp/0674737474 described a process of enslavement of which I also wasn't aware. White colonists would trade firearms to a neighboring tribe. In return they got Indian slaves, taken by the tribe in warfare with less powerful tribes further west. The firearms would enable the tribe to prevail in future conflicts.

Not a historian so I don't know how new or well-established this narrative is.Bill Harshawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02094598931693185805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8611810694571930415.post-85590200055116443462022-11-29T13:46:21.626-05:002022-11-29T13:46:21.626-05:00Somerby hosts banquets for ex Nazis and drug deale...Somerby hosts banquets for ex Nazis and drug dealers.
