This comment relates to several posts ago, where Krugman called Romney a liar for claiming that Obama had apologized for America.
Krugman's basis may be a Fact Checker analysis that gave 4 Pinocchios to the claim that Obama had apologized for America. Karl Rove had provided four examples of what he called apologies. Fact Checker claimed to demonstrate that Obama hadn't apologized at all, because, In none of these cases does Obama actually use a word at all similar to "apologize."
The other day, New York Times pundit Charles Blow made an offensively bigoted statement. He wrote, "Let me just tell you this Mitt ‘Muddle Mouth’: I’m a single parent and my kids are amazing! Stick that in your magic underwear."
Those curious final two words were an unkind reference to a Mormon tradition of wearing a “temple garment” under clothing to symbolize one’s devotion to God (think yarmulke if you’re seeking a parallel in another religion).
Well, Blow gave what everyone is calling an apology. It says, in its entirety, "Btw, the comment I made about Mormonism during Wed.’s debate was inappropriate, and I regret it. I’m willing to admit that with no caveats."
Note the absence of the words "apologize" and "sorry."
Do you find just thinking of college to be overwhelming? Do you not know how you are going to go about it? If you find college to be a daunting prospect, you have lots of company. College is a whole new world, but you can make sure that you are ready and not overwhelmed. cincypunkfest.com |
