    And I will say what I've been saying for awhile now: the role of fact checkers is to give the appearance of fact checking, not to actually establish the truth or falsehood of what politicians say. We live in a world where our political system, particularly its journalistic class, has been swallowed by the Scylla and Charybdis that is postmodernism and plutocracy. Fact checking, to such people, is simply another tool to shape the news according to their wishes, not to better inform people.
