Obama should go on trial! Last Friday, President Trump returned from his trip on the world's most embarrassing aircraft.
Despite the transportation shortfall, the administration was hailing the Middle East trip as a large success. In Yesterday's print editions, the New York Times offered this overview:
For Trump, Adulation and No Risk of Protests Made the Gulf a Dream Trip
[...]
If President Trump has been dogged at home by backlash over his tariff policies, protests over his immigration crackdown and questions over his ethics, a week in the Arabian Peninsula produced nothing but wins for the president.
“The last four days have been really amazing,” Mr. Trump said on Thursday, as he was leaving a palace in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he had just been feted. He added, looking rueful, “Probably going back to Washington, D.C., tomorrow.”
[...]
Mr. Trump was able to announce what he said was more than $2 trillion in economic investments between the United States and the three nations he visited: Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, each longtime purchasers of American military equipment.
Mr. Trump said that the investments from those three nations could reach as high as $4 trillion—roughly the size of all their sovereign wealth funds combined. While much of that total comes in the form of long-term pledges that may or may not materialize and counts some deals that were already underway, leaders of the gulf nations were all too happy to supply Mr. Trump with the eye-popping figures.
Say what? The president was taking credit for "deals that were already underway?"
In this report, the Washington Post went into detail about what it called the "fuzzy math." (Headline: "Trump is taking credit for Middle East deals that predate his presidency.")
According to the Washington Post, the president was taking credit for deals which were made in the Biden years! But even the Times, in its news report, seemed to say, in its own voice, that the trip to the Middle East had produced "nothing but wins for the president."
Even stuck on a puddle-jumper, the president was returning as a classic conquering hero. But at that point, sure enough:
Things began falling apart.
It was Yeats who first noticed this world-wide tendency—a tendency which experts link to the way we humans are wired.
It was Yeats who said that things fall apart. Way back at the dawn of time, the poet reported this:
The Second Coming
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned...
"Surely some revelation is at hand," the poet said moments later. But in our world, Blue America's finer people refuse to report the ceremonies in which an obvious type of anarchy is being loosed on the world.
According to some medical specialists, the president's wiring is especially suspect. On the other hand, so what? Employees on the Fox News Channel can be counted on to repeat whatever the president says.
The New York Times and the Washington Post agree to look avert their gaze from these manifestations. But as the conquering hero returned, things began falling apart, in the familiar old way, all over again.
In ways the finer people refuse to discuss, ancient furies were bubbling up within the monarch again. Because our major news organs have agreed not to report "the dark encroachment of that old catastrophe"—have agreed to pretend there's nothing to look at—we'll link you to a set of reports from the people at Mediaite.
The president was a conquering hero, but a certain intensity quickly returned. In some ways, this intensity can almost seem to be understandable—but good God! By Sunday, he was offering this:
Trump Shares Post Suggesting Obama Should Face a Military Tribunal
President Donald Trump shared a post on his Truth Social account on Sunday that suggested former President Barack Obama should face a “public” military tribunal.
Trump amplified a post, originally from the user @SpiritualStreetfighter that featured an image of Trump alongside then-President Barack Obama in the Oval Office following the 2016 election.
The image was captioned: “ALL ROADS LEAD TO OBAMA… RETRUTH IF YOU WANT PUBLIC MILITARY TRIBUNALS.”
According to the sitting president, Barack Obama should face a tribunal. The nature of the gentleman's offense went completely unmentioned in this peculiar post.
So the conquering hero posted as of Sunday morning. The previous day, even more incredibly, the president had posted this:
Trump Posts Wild Video Full of Murder Conspiracy Theories—With Absolutely No Explanation
President Donald Trump on Saturday shared a video pushing a long-debunked conspiracy theories about Bill and Hillary Clinton—as well as other Democrats—being the murderous forces behind multiple deaths.
The video, posted to his Truth Social account without comment, listed several individuals and implied they died under suspicious circumstances connected to the Clintons.
It is titled “THE VIDEO HILLARY CLINTON DOES NOT WANT YOU TO SEE.”
[...]
The video Trump shared has circulated for years in fringe circles despite being discredited. The same clip was shared on an Instagram page with 3,700 followers just a few weeks before Trump boosted it again Saturday.
The so-called “Clinton body count” conspiracy theory has been debunked over and over, but has permeated online for years.
Good God! This squalor dates all the way back to the mid-1990s—to the days when the very pious Reverend Falwell was selling his Clinton Chronicles tape.
The insanity in this post was so vast that the Washington Post even reported it, under this headline: "Trump peddles false conspiracy theories tying Clintons to several deaths." To peruse the Post's report about this madness, you can just click here.
In that post, President Trump was actually trying to bring the death of Vince Foster back! Five (5) investigations had all concluded that Foster's death—in July 1993!—had in fact been a suicide.
But now, some 32 years later, President Trump was bringing it back. Also, he was trying to tie the villainous Clintons to a long string of other deaths.
The Clintons have murdered a long list of people. President Obama should be frog-marched away.
That said, the fury wasn't restricted to former presidents. Mediaite also puzzled over what this bit of fury could mean:
Trump Threatens ABC Over Coverage of Qatar Jet: I’m Warning These ‘Sleazebags’
President Donald Trump is threatening ABC News over its coverage of the $400 million plane gifted to the Defense Department by the royal family of Qatar.
[...]
Trump claims the network has falsely reported that the plane has been given to him personally.
“The wonderful country of Qatar, after agreeing to invest more than 1.4 Trillion Dollars in the United States of America, deserves much better than Misleading (Fake!) News,” Trump wrote. “Everyone, including their lawyers, has been told that ABC must not say that Qatar is giving ME a FREE Boeing 747 Airplane, because they are not. Instead, and as Fake News ABC fully knows and understands, this highly respected country is donating the plane to the United States Air Force/ Defense Department, AND NOT TO ME. By so doing, they are saving our country, and the American Taxpayer, hundreds of millions of dollars. ABC Fake News is one of the WORST.”
Trump did not specifically point to any coverage that has stated the plane was being given to him personally. ABC’s Jon Karl and Katherine Faulders originally broke the story on May 11. Its language in that report reflected that the plane was being gifted to the Defense Department.
And so on from there.
This brings back a very old question back:
Might something be wrong with this man?
Is something wrong with President Trump? If so, that would be a human tragedy—a tragic loss of human potential, as is always true in matters of this possible type. Nor is the president the only person in the current panorama of whom that question might sensibly be asked.
That said, could something be wrong with President Trump? It now seems that something was wrong with President Biden. How about with President Trump?
The New York Times and the Washington Post refuse to consider that possibility. The stars of Blue America's cable news programs also refuse to go there in a serious way.
In the silence these players maintain, are they part of the way things are falling apart—in the way "the center" is transparently failing to hold?
The best lack all conviction, Yeats said. Could this be what he meant?
We'll spend the week attempting to describe the various ways the center is failing to hold.
This falling apart does involve President Trump, but it also involves a wide range of others. That includes office holders, journalists and academics from within the ranks of Blue America. In our view, it suggests an obvious possibility:
The possibility that we the humans, in the end, simply weren't built for this work.
When President Trump returned from his trip, the madness started again. This apparent madness has been relentlessly normalized by a wide array of us Blues.
The madness is at the Fox News Channel. It may even infest the president's oldest son.
Are we Blues a part of this too? This is simply the way our species is wired, major top experts insist.
Tomorrow: Comey rides again
This just in: Late last night, the president added this:
Trump Demands ‘Major Investigation’ Into Springsteen, BeyoncĂ©, Oprah for Backing Kamala Harris: ‘CORRUPT & UNLAWFUL!’
President Donald Trump has called for a “major investigation” into Bruce Springsteen night after the rock legend delivered a scathing critique of the president during his UK tour.
In a Truth Social post late Sunday night, Trump accused Springsteen of having been paid by former Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris for a campaign performance and endorsement – without offering any evidence.
Trump also floated similar claims about Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, and U2 frontman Bono, all of whom publicly supported Harris or the Democrats during the 2024 election.
And so on from there. For better or worse, he wants Oprah poked and prodded too!
For the record, we Blues have been part of this societal disintegration too. We'll try to get to all these points as the week proceeds. For now, we'll only offer this:
Spirit of The Great [secular] Awakening, please don't fail us now!
"It was Yeats who first noticed this world-wide tendency—a tendency which experts link to the way we humans are wired."
ReplyDeleteSomerby makes up imaginary experts to support statements he pulls out of his ass. Yeats is a fascist poet who Somerby admires and has quoted before. He is not any kind of expert. Nor does Somerby cite anyone else. He just makes these assinine remarks and claims they have weight when they do not.
'Yeats is a fascist poet.'
DeleteDid he write only fascist poems?
Read for yourself here:
Deletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W._B._Yeats
"In the earlier part of his life, Yeats was a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood.[66] In the 1930s, Yeats was fascinated with the authoritarian, anti-democratic, nationalist movements of Europe, and he composed several marching songs for the Blueshirts, although they were never used. He was a fierce opponent of individualism and political liberalism and saw the fascist movements as a triumph of public order and the needs of the national collective over petty individualism. He was an elitist who abhorred the idea of mob-rule, and saw democracy as a threat to good governance and public order.[67] After the Blueshirt movement began to falter in Ireland, he distanced himself somewhat from his previous views, but maintained a preference for authoritarian and nationalist leadership."
Autocracy is not anarchy.
ReplyDelete""The centre cannot hold" is a phrase from W.B. Yeats' poem "The Second Coming." It signifies a breakdown of order, a loss of societal cohesion, and the descent into chaos. The "centre" refers to the social, political, and cultural institutions that provide structure and stability to a society. When the center cannot hold, these institutions fail to maintain order, and "mere anarchy" (chaos) takes over. " [AI]
ReplyDeleteHas anarchy taken over or are we experiencing the iron-fisted implementation of an autocratic government run by a wannabe dictator? Are we experiencing too much control, too much power, not too much chaos? Ask those guys who were rounded up and put on planes to El Salvador without anyone looking at their legal papers authorizing them to live in the US.
Under a state of anarchy, people have freedom and do what they want unchecked. Is that what is happening now? It seems to me that when the president orders his people to "investigate" opposition politicians, university professors, even singers and other performers, we are experiencing an excess of control, not too little. Further, the center is holding fine in Trumpland, with the advance of their extra special cruel new bill with perks for the upper 1% and more taxes for the poor. Is that chaos? Of course not, that is a group using the government to advance its own self-interest and they are being very systematic about it.
It is clear that Somerby loves this imagery by Yeats, but he isn't thinking about whether it really applies to our current circumstances. Trump's center is holding. It is ours that has faltered and we need to organize our resistance and present our own united front against this corruption. Yeats has nothing to offer us in that regard. Apparently, neither does Somerby.
Of course Trump is crazy. Crazy like a fox. What are we going to do about it? That is the question that Somerby never raises and never answers.
"For better or worse, he wants Oprah poked and prodded too!"
ReplyDeleteDoes Somerby really think that all Trump plans for his enemies is a bit of poking and prodding? Is that all that has happened to Abrego Garcia who has now been separated from his family for months? Is that all that has happened to the folks who lost their jobs due to Musk? Is that all that has happened to the people who no longer have govt services, such as the folks in Kentucky who died in a tornado without sufficient warning to find shelter (due to the dismantling of govt weather services)? Is death akin to poking and prodding? I don't think so but Somerby seems so unconcerned that he is still blaming we liberals for what Trump and his rabid followers have done.
"For the record, we Blues have been part of this societal disintegration too."
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely, 100% untrue. First, the coalition on the right is not "disintegration" but organization around their goals. Second, we on the left were doing fine under Biden, recovering from covid, implementing improved infrastructure, making life better for those with lower incomes, improving life for minorities by protecting civil trying to deal with international conflict.
The greedy billionaires thought that was not enough for them, so they took a wrecking ball to our government in order to line their own pockets. Chief among them was Musk, who plundered under the cover of DOGE in order to award himself Starlink contracts, subvert environmental and worker protections and otherwise advance his own interests while creating the infrastructure for a surveillance state. This has nothing to do with the center holding or falling apart or with societal disintegration (whatever that means to Somerby), but everything to do with the wealthy taking power in order to loot our country for their own benefit. We blues have not abetted that, but the reds sure have.
I am so sick and tired of Somerby's false equivalency between what the MAGAs have done to themselves and us and the efforts of blue America to govern for the benefit of all of the people. There is no comparison and no excuse for Somerby to keep maligning the left. We are the only ones doing anything to control Trump's worst impulses. We will be the ones to repair his damage when he leaves office. Our job now is to mitigate the damage, but Somerby has declared himself part of the other side. He does absolutely nothing to help us hold back the forces of evil headed by Trump. He presents no analysis beyond "Trump is crazy" and resisted the warnings about Project 2025, now being forced on all of us. Next step will be rounding up citizens, if we don't exert pressure on the courts and Congress to stop what Trump is doing.
Somerby is like Rob Schneider in those Adam Sandler movies, jumping around on the fringe and shouting "You can do it Little Nicky!" except the cheerleading is for Trump and bad guys on the right, not for the good decent people Trump is oppressing, conning and stealing from while the rest of the world watches our nation go down the tubes. Shame on Somerby.
I notice that Somerby has no kind words for Biden today.
ReplyDeleteDo you?
DeleteYes, I expressed them yesterday when the news broke. Somerby has not.
Delete"The Great Awakening," a term that refers to religious revivals, is a poor metaphor for resistance against Trump, even if Somerby sticks the word "secular" into the middle, thus introducing a confusing contradiction in terms.
ReplyDeleteVague references to societal disintegration, the center not holding, gives us no idea what Somerby feels is wrong with our country these days. He never says. He only blames us lefties after quoting Gutfeld (or someone similarly awful) and expressing a kind of faux outrage over their crassness. But he has sided with those deporting immigrants and doesn't come down in favor of due process, and he dislikes those opposing Trump on cable news, so it is very hard to figure out what Somerby thinks should be happening, other than occasionally telling us that Trump is crazy. Would all of our problems be solved if Trump went away? I don't think so, given the rise of white supremacists on the right and bro culture gleefully shoving women out of their jobs and their place in history and culture. The MAGAs would still be here, our economy would still be messed up without the right having any will to change it, and our place in the world would still have been forfeited in exchange for big gold planes and other bribes to Jared Kushner.
So, what does Somerby think we should be doing over here on the left? Helping DOGE destroy civil rights? Louisiana is talking about re-segregating its schools! I hope Somerby is happy about that!
In the 60s there was a saying that if you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. Somerby needs to take that to heart, join the resistance and stop being an obstacle to those of us who are trying to figure out how to stop what has been happening to all of us. As it stands, he is no help and that means he is an obstacle to blue goals. He is on the wrong side of history with this one. If he cannot say anything helpful, it would be better if he shut up and went back to sitting under his pear tree and musing about something else.
Bitching about a blogger - now that is the true vanguard of the Resistance!
DeleteYes, I'm also eating breakfast. Should I stop eating until Trump goes away too? Somerby is an asshole who makes things worse not better. What's not to bitch about?
DeleteBitching about a commenter bitching about a blogger..now that is resistance.
DeleteLet's not shortchange DG's shot at Somerby's uselessness as a blogger.
DeleteI agree with DG, 11:13's rhetoric is an important part of resistance, and their criticism of Somerby is accurate.
DeleteHere we see a pure example of what is known as a circle jerk.
DeleteYou should know.
DeleteReally? Are you a third-grader?
DeleteYou started it.
Delete"Spirit of The Great [secular] Awakening, please don't fail us now!"
ReplyDeleteWhat is that spirit? It surely isn't anything Somerby is talking about. I tend to think it is the spirit of our nation's people and it will be in the streets on June 14, marching again.
Over on Digby's blog, Tom Sullivan routinely lists things that we individuals can do to resist Trump:
"Have you fought dictatorship today?
No Kings Day, June 14th
The Resistance Lab
Choose Democracy
Indivisible: A Guide to Democracy on the Brink
You Have Power
Chop Wood, Carry Water
Thirty lonely but beautiful actions
Attending a Protest Surveillance Self-Defense"
These are links to places to find out how to help. The links are live here (and at the end of every Tom Sullivan article):
https://digbysblog.net/2025/05/19/give-me-that-old-time-cruelty/
This is what activism looks like, not the shit Somerby writes here.
June 14 has been designated "No Kings Day" and it is a day for the people to express our displeasure with what is happening under Trump.
Delete"Every day that passes, Republicans are getting closer and closer to passing a bill that will cut Medicaid, food assistance programs, veterans' health care and housing and so much more all to give more money to people in this country who already have it all.
DeleteIt is nothing short of some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in this country taking away from people who are struggling just to get by.
We're sorry to put that thought into your head — but it is what is on the brink of happening.
The good news — the glimmer of hope — is that there are cracks in the Republican Party.
There are Republican elected officials who feel the pressure from ads, town halls, and organizing happening in their districts that their re-election is in jeopardy if they vote for these cuts.
They are right to be scared.
Which is why we have to keep up the pressure before time runs out."
This is what the Democrats are doing about Trump. Fighting back.
Maybe Somerby is waiting for a secular messiah to come along and lead us back to the true path? That is how cults are born.
DeleteWow! Anonymouse 11:17am, never let it be said that lefties don’t know how to have fun!
DeleteThere are a whole lot of people who are not having any kind of fun right now, Cecelia. Some have lost their jobs, some are in detention camps in El Salvador, some have preexisting conditions and are being cut from Medicaid or are losing their employer-paid health insurance.
DeleteThe whole point of the protests on June 14 are to point out to our legislators that Trump is hurting a lot of people and has no business engaging in illegal activities instead of doing his job as President. If you think any of this is fun for any of us, you have absolutely no sense of empathy. Every single person engaged in protest on June 14 would rather be somewhere else doing something else, which would be happening if Trump were not such a godawful President.
Anyone who isn't a bigot, or isn't perfectly fine with bigotry, left the Republican Party over a quarter of a century ago.
Delete"‘off with Bruce Springsteen’s head!’ cries Mad King Donny
ReplyDeletePresident Rage-Baby will not stop blubbering
Jeff Tiedrich, May 19
it’s 12:45am on a Sunday night. Mad King Donny is pacing the halls of the White House. what remains of his decaying mind is too obsessed to sleep.
“HOW MUCH DID KAMALA HARRIS PAY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR HIS POOR PERFORMANCE DURING HER CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT? WHY DID HE ACCEPT THAT MONEY IF HE IS SUCH A FAN OF HERS? ISN’T THAT A MAJOR AND ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION? WHAT ABOUT BEYONCÉ? …AND HOW MUCH WENT TO OPRAH, AND BONO??? I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter. Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment. In addition, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially build up her sparse crowds. IT’S NOT LEGAL! For these unpatriotic “entertainers,” this was just a CORRUPT & UNLAWFUL way to capitalize on a broken system. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!”
oh great. United States President Grievance J. Fuckbrain is up in the middle of the night, making wild accusations and calling for investigations.
for the record, there is no evidence whatsoever that the Harris campaign paid for endorsements from Springsteen, BeyoncĂ©, Oprah or Bono. it’s just one of those things that Donny knows is true, because the barking noises in Donny’s head tell him it’s true.
so unfair! there can only be one reason why major stars flocked to Kamala’s side, while Donny had to make do with washed-up never-weres like No Longer A Kid Rock: it’s because crimey crimes were being crimed!
and so it’s off with all their fucking heads.
because nothing says efficiency in government so much as getting Pam Bondi and Krazee Eyes Kash and the entire Department of What Used To Be Justice involved in a pointless series of witch hunts, all to soothe the bruised ego of an unquenchable rageaholic.
hey, maybe Donny can get Comer Fudd and that other jackass — the shouty half-dressed degenerate wrestling coach — to hold some congressional hearings. yeah, that’ll be a good use of everybody’s time.
government of the grievance-babies, by the grievance-babies, and for the grievance-babies. what could go wrong?
by the way, here’s the reason Donny was losing his shit in the middle of the night: Bruce Springsteen will not stop calling him a tyrant."
It turns out one of the reasons Biden did so poorly president was that he had dementia and cancer the whole time.
ReplyDelete"as president". It turns out one of the reasons Biden did so poorly as president was that he had dementia and cancer the whole time.
DeleteHe didn’t do poorly as President.
DeleteThere has never been any credible evidence of dementia presented. Trump is now president and has presented no meaningful information about his health. That suggests a double-standard for Biden compared to Trump. Trump is obviously not a well man. Biden was always more competent throughout his administration. That is what counted.
DeleteAs most elderly men know, it is common for doctors to stop testing for prostate cancer because the other factors affecting mortality will result in death long before cancer becomes troublesome. The treatment itself can ruin the remaining years of a man's life without providing much benefit to longevity. Biden's cancer is "agressive" which means it is progressing more quickly than usual. When the news says his family is deciding about treatment options, it means they are weighing the likelihood of painful bone cancer symptoms against the side effects of aggressive treatment.
Biden has finished his term in office. Leave the guy alone.
Jill Biden is likely complicit in the cover up.
DeleteAnonymouse 12:05pm, It's improbable that "the guy" is reading this blog. The sole authority in the comments section is Somerby and I doubt he requires any help.
DeleteThe media's cover-up of the Biden economic miracle is what led us to this place.
DeleteHow stupid is the Felon's cult? They think Dr. Jill Biden is a medical doctor when they read dear leaders stupid talk. Dumb and weird is a bad combo. So sad. So fing dumb
DeleteSo uninformed, so nasty, so sad. So typical of the cult. Weirdos the whole lot of them.
DeleteAnonymouse 2:19pm, scroll down and glory in your cult/coven’s offerings.
DeleteRepublicans are enraged with jealousy over how Biden has a loving relationship with his wife and kids.
DeleteMeanwhile, Trump's third "wife" is disgusted by Trump, will not let him touch her, and their relationship is defined by a written contract.
Trump's first "wife", the daughter of a KGB associate, died mysteriously by falling down stairs and then was dumped in an unkempt and ignored grave site on one of Trump's golf clubs because he wanted to get a tax break for it.
Trump raised his kids poorly, they all engage in corrupt behavior, although Trump has a "special" feeling toward his eldest daughter, the one he thinks is hot, constantly sexualizes, and has carnal desires for. Trump went so far as to rape a 13yo girl that reminded him of his own daughter, and since he was kind enough to pay for Ivanka's two abortions when she was a teen, he also gave money to his rape victim in case she needed an abortion, because he did not use a condom.
Has Trump been tested for syphilis? It produces dementia and other symptoms if left untreated. It may be that everyone is afriad to broach the subject with Trump, but a comprehensive yearly exam should include STD testing, especially when someone is as prosmicuous as Trump and the women he has been hanging around with (not Melania).
DeleteWe should be demanding this simple preventative medicine for our president, especially given that Trump has now said he is so in favor of things like prostate cancer screenings.
Delete
ReplyDeleteSquealing is getting louder and louder, more and more hysterical. Nice. Thanks, Bob.
Democrat squealing is music to my ears.
"You're the puppet!"
DeleteAll we owe, we owe to Rump. We are not weirdos in a dummies cult. Honest.
DeleteI hear ya...but still....
Deletesomebody needs to do it.
DOHA, QATAR (The Borowitz Report)—Last week Qatar inked a historic agreement to acquire a president of the United States, Emir Tamim bin Hamad al Thani confirmed on Monday.
ReplyDeleteBut even as Qatar touted the acquisition, critics argued that the president it bought was in poor condition and not fully functional.
Additionally, the critics noted, he was preowned, having previously been purchased by Vladimir Putin, Elon Musk, and dozens of others.
For his part, the emir brushed off such criticism, telling reporters, “He can’t possibly be worth less than that shitty old 747.”
To be more accurate, everyone is buying shares in Trump's President, Inc..
DeleteRepublican cucks are into sloppy seconds.
DeleteThe headline Bob quotes is false. Trump demanded an investigation of these entertainers AFTER, not FOR, their backing of for Biden. This is called the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy.
ReplyDeleteFurthermore, the article makes it clear that Trump's demand is because of a suspected unreported payment. The headline would be less inflammable if it accurately said Trump Demands ‘Major Investigation’ Into Springsteen, BeyoncĂ©, Oprah for allegedly taking unreported campaign payments.
LOL! You're such a little cunt, Dickhead.
Delete"if it accurately said"
DeleteYeah. Their TDS affliction causes them, poor things, lose any connection with reality. "Accurately" is not how TDS zombies do things.
Let's list the people who we definitely know don't give a shit about the deficit.
DeleteI'll start:
David in Cal
Donald Trump
The entire Republican Party
The billionaires who donate to the Republican Party
The mainstream, corporate-owned, Right-wing media
Let's keep it going.
That looks like a list of bigots, and those perfectly fine with bigotry.
DeleteNo DiC, it is a deflection from taking bribes from enemies of the USA and Israel. Get a clue you deluded cultist.
DeleteLet's not buy into David in Cal's shtick, that he's just a gullible rube, who will believe anything. David in Cal is a typical bigoted Republican voter, who takes delight in watching minorities suffer.
DeleteSo let's see. If Springsteen was paid, that's illegal because Harris "bought" his endorsement. If Springsteen wasn't paid, that's illegal because it's an in-kind campaign contribution in excess of the limits.
DeleteIs that how this works?
DeleteIf celebrities were paid and payments weren't reported, the violation is obvious. And that's what Comma-la is being suspected of.
This has long since been debunked, even directly to similar comments DiC made on this months ago.
DeleteDiC is a troll, there is nothing to gain from responding to him.
@3:32 Is that you, Cecelia? Why the switch to anonymous?
DeleteAnyway there are no credible accusations against Harris here--just Trump's usual conspiratorial bluster.
QiB, not me, but I like the trippy name must be catching on.
Delete"that's what Comma-la is being suspected of."
DeleteThis sounds serious. In my experience, people suspected of doing bad things--on the internet!--always turn out to have done them.
"Trump demanded an investigation of these entertainers AFTER, not FOR, their backing of Biden. This is called the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy."
Delete1) a demand for an investigation of the entertainers, if made FOR their backing of Biden, could only have come AFTER their backing of Biden. So the distinction sought after in the quoted excerpt is unclear.
2) the fallacy of post hoc ergo propter hoc occurs when a causal relationship is assumed between events simply because one follows another in time.
But the headline the commenter discusses asserts no causal relationship. It says simply that Trump called for an investigation. While it is true it omits a salient aspect of Trump’s allegation, it is innocent of any logical fallacy.
.
Trump would have his share of celebrity endorsements but the likes of Ted Nugent and Kid Rock are hard to come by.
DeleteSaw a post on Twitter joking that HHS will be funding a major new project to find a cure for TDS. That should be welcome news to our host and most of the commenters here. We Reds are good and decent people and we don’t like seeing half the country wallow in pointless despair.
ReplyDeleteFolks in a cruel and vindictive cult calling others deranged is so funny. What a bunch of weirdos.
DeleteAccusations of "TDS" are highly correlated with people who engage in abuse of minors.
DeleteBasically, 1:40 is outing himself as a pedo.
You reds are good and decent people who will need all the greenbacks the blue states are doling out the next time a tornado rolls through your trailer park. But alas, what is left of FEMA will be leaving that responsibility at whatever is left of your doorstep. We'll call it personal accountability.
DeleteThe Supreme Court has ruled 8-1 in favor of overturning a lower court order that blocked the Trump administration from revoking the Temporary Protected Status of over 500,000 Venezuelan nationals.
ReplyDeleteWell based on what happened to north St. Louis we must be at war. Oh wait, that was a tornado. Pathetic weasel Josh Hawley begging for expedited FEMA response and funding. That clueless POS is running for President. Just what this country needs, a sniveling liar, not a bombastic liar. Weirdos in any case. And no Josh, no aid from the asshole felon in charge. Need that money for rich people, not some fcking blue city ghetto.
DeleteI'd rather watch Red Staters suffer, then give them a penny to deal with something they think is a hoax.
Delete
ReplyDelete"Might something be wrong with this man?"
Not with just "this man", Bob. Everyone who is not a Democrat is suffering from sluggish schizophrenia. Because, if they were healthy, they would've been Democrats, obviously. Q.E.D.
Being in an idiot's cult is not a sign of mental illness, everything is fine. Now go tan your balls and paint your face shit brown like your dear leaders.
DeleteSomebody needs to do it.
ReplyDelete
