Creepy obstacle to an emergence: The towel-snapping topped the pile at Mediaite this morning. Grown men need to start telling these undergrown boys that it's time for them to shut the frump up.
We offer thanks to David Gilmour. His report starts like this:
‘How Is This Real?’ JD Vance Mocked for ‘Tone Deaf’ Opener to MAGA Voter’s Affordability Question
Critics ripped Vice President JD Vance as “tone deaf” after he responded to a young supporter’s concerns about housing affordability for families by cracking a joke about Senator Jon Husted’s (R-OH) butt during a Fox News town hall.
The awkward exchange unfolded Thursday night when Texas Christian University student Kate White, vice president of the school’s Turning Point USA chapter, challenged Vance over how Republicans expect young Americans to marry and start families when homeownership remains out of reach for many.
“How does the right and yourself expect us to start families young when you know the average price of a home in America now costs more than $415,000, which just feels out of reach for us,” she asked.
All in all, Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!
It wasn't just a "MAGA Voter," as the headline reported. The question came from a young woman whose values and understandings have led her to Turning Point USA, the movement Charlie Kirk built!
We aren't fans of the bulk of Kirk's work, but Ow ow ow ow ow! The young woman had asked a serious question.
Here's what the pair of Bros did:
(Continuing directly from above)
Rather than immediately addressing her concerns, Vance began by pointing out that almost nobody in the audience had asked about Husted.“Well, first of all, again, thank you for the question and thanks for the support,” Vance said. “I want to point out that I think that I’ve been asked four or maybe five questions by my count, I’ve only been asked one question about Jon Husted’s a*s and it was by Jesse Watters.”
Watters, who was moderator, laughed, insisting it was what people were talking about, before Vance quipped: “Maybe you should run for Senate on the Democratic side here in Texas, Jesse.”
The clip quickly went viral on social media, however, drawing criticism from commentators who questioned why the vice president had opened his response to a serious economic concern with an unrelated political joke.
And so on from there. For the record, it wasn't just a "political" joke. It was a towel-snapping sexual side-trip of the type these underdeveloped men keep inflicting on this nation's failing culture.
To see this creepy throwback "mutt culture" at work, click here for Greg Gutfeld's opening monologue on last night's Gutfeld! program. Meanwhile:
In fairness to Vice President Vance, we've said it here several times in the past. Almost surely, someone who was abused in his childhood the way Vance was is likely to show the effects of that mistreatment later on, as a chronological adult.
Our view? It's time for grown men in this struggling nation to tell these creeps to shut up. That said, we know of no salaried Blue American journalist, male or female, who has ever said a word about the undisguised misogyny which rules the Gutfeld! show most nights.
Yesterday, down in Texas, a young woman asked a serious question. Before her question was addressed, two classic frat boys had some fun.
So it goes as candidates like Amy Acton and Annie Andrews try to let a saner day emerge—as a candidate like the Rev. Adam Hamilton threatens to win a Senate seat in Kansas.
(Candidate Hamilton is "senior pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, the largest United Methodist congregation in the United States." It's beginning to look like he could snag that Kansas seat for the Dems.)
As you know, Candidate Acton (like Candidate Andrews, she's a doctor) was mugged by a campaign ad last week—by an ad which probably backfired. The ad came from the camp of Vivek Ramaswamy, one of our current collection of billionaire bros.
We thought we'd show you what stands in the way of a fuller emergence at this time for our badly endangered nation. The obstacle takes shape when people like this, from Trump on down, spread their gruesome values all through the culture—as Blue America's salaried "journalists" all run off and hide.
Here goes:
The analysts loved Candidate Acton's messaging after Ramaswamy's ad appeared. We ran through that messaging in Monday's report, but this is some of the stuff of a badly needed emergence:
Candidate Acton / Hints of emergence
Eric and I want to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support, and all the love, you have shown us this past week, and every day on the trail.
Thank you. Thank you.
[CHEERS]
My name is Dr. Amy Acton—
[CHEERS]
I'm an Ohio girl through and through. I grew up in Youngstown.
[CHEERS]
It's the stuff of Bruce Springsteen songs...
When I grew up, we didn't know what party you were in. We knew what union you were in!
[CHEERS]
We knew what branch of the military you served in, we knew where you worshipped. We knew what civic groups you were in.
But the biggest thing we knew was that you had one another's back, and if it weren't for the tough, deeply resilient community I had, I wouldn't be here today
They had my back when I needed it most...
In Ohio, we work hard and we watch out for one another. My opponent just doesn't get it.
Mr. Ramaswamy, you are not just out of touch, you are out for yourself and you're a danger to my state. Apparently, there is no low to which you won't stoop. But look:
I'm a scrappy kid from Youngstown—
[CHEERS]
—and scrappy kids from Youngstown, we never back down from a fight!
If you want your nation to stage an emergence, that is helpful rhetoric.
She's inviting the churches and the military back into the tent, but also, of course, the unions. And with everyone back inside that tent, she's saying we have to look out for each other, that she'll never back down from that fight.
("Eric and I," she says as she starts. An assurance is lurking there too. If you're inclined to flip out at this point, you may be a helpmate for MAGA.)
We Blues are going to have to admit that we've been wrong in many of our attitudes and ideas. It will be good for us to admit that because it's a well-known fact that it's true.
Needless to say, the billionaire nut-balls, the throwback males, rushed out to support that braindead ad. With that, we take you to last Saturday's broadcast of C-Span's Washington Journal.
Mimi Geerges was moderator that day. To watch the program, you can just click here.
As C-Span callers frequently note, Geerges has a superb disposition. She was also playing by C-Span rules, according to which moderators almost never offer their opinion about the matters at issue.
The program started at 7 a.m. Eastern. If you click ahead to 7:36, you'll see Geerges play tape of Vance saying that Acton "is unfit to serve as governor of Ohio."
If you click ahead to 7:40, you'll see Geerges play tape of the sitting president supporting "the terrible things the mother said" about Candidate Acton. He does so at great length.
When powerful people behave in such ways, citizens do get misled. If you click to 7:36, you'll hear Sarah from Indiana saying, at considerable length, that Candidate Acton "is not a good person" and that she is "not fit to be in the office."
The next caller will be Roy from Cameron, Texas. You'll hear him confidently cite the mother's claim that Acton is a liar.
(Quoting: "Just because somebody had a traumatic experience when they were younger doesn't mean they have a right to be a liar later on in life.")
As men like Vance and Watters and Gutfeld take their cues from the disordered Trump, our culture is in a dangerous downward spiral.
These are the Bros who just can't adjust. Tell us when you see any Blue American journalist telling these apostles of an ugly, dimwitted throwback culture that it's time for them to grow up.
That it's time for them to stifle themselves. That it's time to shut the freak up.
Emergence is struggling to be born. A lot of very helpful vision is coming from ministers and doctors and women.
The Bros—the fellows who can't quite seem to grow the f*ck up—keep fighting to push it on back.
ReplyDelete"...these underdeveloped men..."
Boo-hoo. Personally, I'd give a dozen of overdeveloped Dumbocrat retards like yourself for each underdeveloped man.
Mao woke up in a puddle after dreaming about being JD’s couch.

ReplyDelete"The analysts loved Candidate Acton's messaging after Ramaswamy's ad appeared. "
Sure. I'm not surprised that your retarded Dumbocrat "analysts" loved racist crap produced by the irreparably damaged motherless child's campaign consultants.
Aren’t you lonely? Not even Cecelia and David support you.
Delete"Racist crap?" Trumptard has come full circle. Perhaps his new nomme de plume should be woketard.
DeleteHindus have millions of God's. I can only accept men who cow tow to the one true God, the one with a massive muscular ass. And you and I know what you want to do to it Mao!
DeleteThat is nom de plume not nomme, which is a verb form meaning nominate or name to a position. Nom is a noun referring to a name.
Delete4:38, thanks for the correction.
DeleteNouns and verbs are white.
DeleteVance and Watters and Gutfeld and ramaswamy are just not good, decent people. At least one ought to admit that. Calling them “nutballs” isn’t sufficient. It is rather a deflection from the truth.
ReplyDeleteJD Vance- pffff. Just understand that the real problem is always Bob.
DeleteCece been busy the last week, must be collecting a few sheckles, I mean rubles for the midterm disinformation putsch.
DeleteAnonymouse 1:33pm, da.
DeleteBob isn’t the problem, moron. It’s the idea that these people aren’t just “nutballs.” They’re fascists.
DeleteThe historic fascists were nutballs.
DeleteMaybe you think they’re nutty, but they are deliberate and their fascism is quite serious. It’s a mistake to fail to understand this and to state it clearly.
DeleteAside from having an epically humiliating loss in Iran, off the charts corruption, and a looming historical market crash; they do say a lot of nasty shit about the others. So they got that going for them.
DeleteTrump says he can end the war in Iran anytime he wants to, and his supporters clap and cheer in response.
DeleteWild!
Why else did the fucking abomination steal the Nobel Peace Prize from that woman? Hurrah!

ReplyDelete"As men like Vance and Watters and Gutfeld take their cues from the disordered Trump, our culture is in a dangerous downward spiral. "
But Bob, your Dumbocrat "culture" has been in a downward spiral for decades now.
...and of course this has nothing to do with Vance, Watters, Gutfeld, or Trump. In fact, your endless projections is something you need to confront.
“ your endless projections is something you need to confront.”
DeleteIs it possible for you to find a statement or two in today’s essay where somerby does just that?
Retard, please! It's right in front of your eyes (assuming you're a human retard), quoted in 12:53 PM. Blaming Vance, Watters -- everyone but himself -- for the failings of his Dumbocrat "culture".

How come you never address the central part of Bob's post? That JD is a couch fucker?
DeleteI want to respond but I have no idea what the retard dum(b)ocrat guy is even going on about. You'd think before calling other people retards he would know there is no B in dum.
DeleteThe Trumpie trolls have read the polls. They are squirming like David in Cal when his new geriatrician, a black woman from inner-city Oakland, said “grab your ankles.”

A self inflicted fucking disaster. From Digbys place:
Delete"THE MOST INCOMPETENT WAR IN HISTORY: SARAH PAINE ON TRUMP’S IRAN DISASTER Dr. Sarah Paine, a leading historian of great-power conflict and strategy, delivers a blunt verdict on the Iran war. She calls it one of the most incompetent wars in human history. The decision ignored basic principles of assessment, put maximum costs on America itself, and left permanent damage to the country’s power and alliances. This is not hindsight—it is the predictable result of hubris meeting reality. THE CORE VERDICT
“The Iran war is probably one of the most incompetent wars in human history.”
A competent war puts the costs on the enemy and minimizes them for yourself.
This one did the opposite. THE COST CATASTROPHE
It trashed the US economy.
It blew the US alliance system.
Iran is hurting, but the collateral damage is taking down the world’s economy.
That transforms the United States from a partner into an annoyance—and for many, a primary adversary—because it is threatening their economies.
“That’s breathtakingly incompetent.” THE STRATEGIC BLIND SPOT
Any serious assessment looks at the enemy’s strengths and your own weaknesses, plus everyone else who might intervene.
That was absent.
The first thing Iran would do is shut Hormuz. Narrow seas close in wartime. Ukraine already showed this with the Black Sea.
Shore artillery, mines, and other tools stop traffic. There is no mystery here.
The big naval base in Bahrain becomes unreachable. The fallback is Diego Garcia, 2,500 miles away in the middle of nowhere. “That would be a mess.”
THE HUBRIS THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE
The people making the calls are historically unqualified for the job. That makes them profoundly dangerous.
Type A hubris assumes all decisions that matter happen in the United States.
Type B hubris assumes being good at one thing makes you good at everything.
Half-court tennis: you only watch your own side and never study the other team.
The Iranians understand Americans far better than Americans understand them. THE UNFEASIBLE OBJECTIVE
Trying to “solve” Iran with 90 million people was never realistic.
Nazi Germany had roughly 80 million and required an occupation force of about 1.5 million just to hold it after the war—before counting everyone else."
But never mind the awful facts, look over there, Soros and trannies are on the loose!
Hector: Two of our brain dead dear leaders trusted brain dead advisors Hicseth and the mean guy from OK Mullethead actually testified that a 250 Arch would benefit national security as its height would allow a vantage point to see evil actors (we have cameras and drones for that) and would be used for a drone port and sniper post (just no you idiots). It also uses recently acquired alien technology that allows it to transform into an intergalactic fighter craft. Certainly we can all now see why it must be built to keep the demented fascist autocrat happy sitting in his diaper poo.

No candidate and no party will mirror an individual’s views 100%, but we vote for those who come closest. A csndidate who does not have faith in their own judgement, knowledge, experience and values will be worthless in office. I wouldn’t vote for a blue candidate who addressed me by apologizing, retracting, waffling and abandoning what we blues stand for, especially when so much is at stake for our country. Somerby is utterly wrong when he yrges this.
I don’t care about Republican towel snapping but I do care about Republican corruption and incompetence, unlike Somerby (based on what he discusses). His bad advice is wrong for Democrats and blue America.
Acton is more than just gutsy. She has good ideas. Like most blue candidates.

DeleteAnonymouse 5:44pm, two days ago. You’re welcome.
DeleteWe get it that there are Republicans who call in to Cspan. Why must Somerby quote them and where is the rebuttal to the lies they repeat?
ReplyDelete“These are the Bros who just can't adjust. Tell us when you see any Blue American journalist telling these apostles of an ugly, dimwitted throwback culture that it's time for them to grow up.

We blues believe in our constitution and support it as the guarantee of our freedoms and rights. We blues recognize that even people who say things we don’t like have the same rights we do, including free speech. That’s why we address lies by defending the truth, rebuttal and education, not by trying to suppress the speech of others, even if they are liars like Ramaswamy and Vance.
Given the way Somerby calls for blues to retract our platform, and his obvious disregard for the constitution and rights of all people, I don’t think he has much in common with us blues, no matter what he claims.
We blues are going to sweep the midterms without abandoning any of the positions that are important to us, every woke one of them!
Somerby wants blues to save reds from themselves.
DeleteSure, Somerby, sure.
If reds want to hang themselves, so be it.
I'm old enough to remember Somerby castigating Biden for expressing that he is a scrappy fighter from Scranton.
ReplyDeleteSomerby is not genuinely supporting Acton's words, he's using those words to push his agenda.
Somerby's agenda: anti-feminist, anti-woke, anti-Republican boorishness because it makes them look bad.
Somerby is an alien from Uranus.
DeleteSomerby is a right winger running a right wing vanity blog.
DeleteTo your Uranus point, many say he's also an asshole.
Somerby isn't genuinely supporting Acton, he's only pretending to support her by devoting 4+ paragraphs over two separate posts to praise her.
DeleteDoesn't that seem just a little stupid? Doesn't it?
Somerby's strategy relies on a sucker being born every minute.
DeleteHey, look, there's one at 5:17.
Not a whole lot of praise for so many paragraphs.
DeleteAnonymouse 5:15pm, by “many say he [Somerby] is also an asshole”, she means her liege Mr. Soros says that.
DeleteThe trannyglobalist troll gotta go.

DeleteAnonymouse 5:42pm, no, it trips off your tongue.
DeleteName-calling. The strategy employed when one is utterly defeated. Right, 5:21?
DeleteToday Somerby is back to whining about Gutfeld, about how Gutfeld is bad for Republican branding.
ReplyDeleteSomerby's call to action is for Dems to pay attention to people like Gutfeld.
Brother, please.
Even Republicans have stopped paying attention to Gutfeld.
While Somerby loves to tout Fox News ratings, he's been completely silent about the recent news about how Fox News' ratings are plummeting. Severely plummeting. And in an election season no less.
Barely now getting over a daily average of 1 million views, some of their biggest shows are not even getting 100k viewers in the all important 25-54 demographic.
This viewership is dwarfed by the average news-related Youtube channel, of which there are hundreds.
Crickets from Somerby.
Hypocritical, yes, but in total alignment with his right wing agenda.
No. He’s just old and demented.
DeleteAgree, Somerby fretting about Ramaswamy and Vance and the like is not dementia but a real concern that these people are bringing down the GOP.
DeleteWhy would a "blue" care that "reds" are self-immolating? A real "blue" would not, only a "red" pretending to be a "blue" would attempt something so nonsensical.
It took a while but we're finally seeing the payoff for all that hard work DOGE put in:
ReplyDelete"Federal Debt Surpassed GDP for Fiscal 2026"
I read more war and less taxation is the GOP fix. Actually proposing a $1.5 Trillion defense budget. Everything is fine.
DeleteIt only cost a few million lives
Delete"Somerby fretting about Ramaswamy and Vance and the like is not dementia but a real concern that these people are bringing down the GOP."
ReplyDeleteInteresting comment, made all the more so by the fact that not a single sentence of Somerby's post today supports it.
Carry on.
I like big butts.
DeleteSomerby is clever enough to hide his intent.
DeleteAnonymouse 5:37pm, but you have him figured out…
DeleteWhen a writer hides his intent, it can only be the reader it is hidden from. In which case it has no effect on the reader, since it is hidden.
DeleteSo what's the point of the writer doing that?
Yes, he skillfully hides his right-wing views, so we have to expose him by making shit up.
DeleteSomerby is too smart to believe Republican voters aren't just bigots.
DeleteDG He is a paid influencer spreading disinformation.
DeleteThe bigger issue is that your life doesn't have any purpose or meaning. So you took up the moral and intellectual sinkhole of online politics to try to fill that hole. But, of course, it was a trap that has left you lonely and empty, powerless and frustrated to the point you desperately troll all day long in order to get just a little bit of attention to salve the the loneliness and meaningless of your life. It's all you have and it's all you will ever have. And every day, every post, your empty, lonely hole remains unfilled. And every day death comes closer, coming to get you to relieve you of the meaningless of your sad existence.
DeleteSort of sounds like you know what you’re talking about.
DeleteAnonymouse 8:56pm, well done. Spoken by someone who has bared his soul. Anonymices don’t need to spend their lives trolling a blogger. There are plenty of blogs where anonymices can hear and share beliefs solely like your own. Delete“soulmice” - good one
Delete8:56 - Don’t take my comments the wrong way. I loved your post.
DeleteSadly, Cecelia still can't get an erection.
DeleteLate stage capitalism and technofudalism sucked the soul out of life and left all of us alienated. We all deal with it in different ways. Some turned to the utter hell hole of the political internet because it gave them a false feeling of meaning and belonging through a false idea of tribal identity and superiority. Left with nothing else, it turned into an addiction which is why we have lunatic zombies like the primary troll here casting about nonsensical paranoid theories of organized corruption and malicious nefarious intent of everyone and anything outside their bubble - which was always an illusion in the first place. This false idea of tribalism is the only thing that gives them meaning. It's all they have in their life. And it's a total illusion. So the rants go on and on and on day after day, hour after hour, the ideas and insults never changing, always the same. always devoid of originality, nuance, creativity and interest, and especially empathy. It's all they have. This illusion of a difference, this illusion of an argument is all they have. So they say the same thing every day and do the same thing every day day after day just like an alcoholic or a drug addict. There's really nothing that can be done for them. Although they are most likely petrified of death, it's the only thing that will save them from their hellish, lonely, isolated existence devoid of meaning and now in service of a fictional, fantasy idea of political meaning and engagement.
