This week, The Way We Argue: Last week, we started our latest award-winning series, The Way We Are.
In this series, we’ll highlight the way our public discourse actually works, as opposed to the way it’s described by the mainstream press and in our civics texts.
Last week, we focused on the role of “storylines” in the reporting of White House campaigns. In this, the second week of our series, we’ll adopt a different focus.
This week’s series will be called The Way We Argue. Starting with the recent dust-up between Bill Maher and Ben Affleck, we’ll look at some of the ways we tend to debate major issues, especially in the emerging liberal world.
In our view, these tendencies may not serve progressive interests. In our view, Bill and Ben’s dust-up highlights this point.
All week long, The Way We Argue! With transcripts of what the lads actually said!

Additional key point: We know, we know! We promised you that our semi-annual fund-raising drive would be starting this week.
We suspect we’re going to wait a week. Nothing that is so badly needed has ever been postposed so much!
