His streaming on Twitch has earned him a lot of money and an audience in the millions. That makes him like Joe Rogan. If Somerby just now realized he has an audience, that is on Somerby, not Piker.
If Somerby just began eating ice cream, extolling the virtues of this wonderful new dessert, would that be because ice cream is a new arrival, or just a new arrival on his radar. Next Somerby will be discovering pickle ball.
Trump has been the best thing to happen to the mullahs since the fall of the Shah. Killing him in a missile attack would invite a catastrophic response. Why would they do it? There would be some PR benefits, but it might prompt an actual invasion, which would be devastating. Iran is a big, populous country, but the U.S. would crush it if using its full military force. Such an assassination makes little sense.
El-Sayed has campaigned with Piker in order to reach Piker's audience. Candidates use Joe Rogan the same way. No one holds them responsible for everything Joe Rogan has ever said, so why should El-Sayed be held responsible for Piker's opinions?
I get it that Somerby is an old fart who cannot tell the youngs apart, but that doesn't mean El-Sayed is Piker. It seems obvious Somerby is going to attempt to tarnish El- Sayed with some sort of guilt-by-association Piker skewering.
That is what the right wing does. It is inappropriate now. He needs to to close his eyes and remember how mean he was to Harris when she didn't appear on Rogan's show (Rogan wouldn't accept her).
