MONDAY: Sanders responds to the president's bomb!

MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2025

Also, who gets Medicaid coverage? Given the extent of The Crazy afoot in the land, our major news orgs have largely stopped trying to fact-check the basic policy claims which drive our political arguments.

Today, attention actually is being paid to President Trump’s most recent bit of bizarre behavior—his posting on a 19-second videotape which purports to show him dumping mountains of human waste on the heads of those who oppose him.

That said, why would a person do something like that? That question is going unaskedbut the president’s recent piece of bizarre behavior is being reported and reacted to, by such persons as Senator Bernie Sanders and Speaker Mike Johnson.

For example, Sanders has now said this:

Bernie Sanders Left at a Loss for Words...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was left fumbling for words on ABC’s The View Monday after he was asked about President Donald Trump’s AI-generated “poop bomb” video.

Trump posted the video to his Truth Social on Saturday during the “No Kings” protests that attracted a reported seven million Americans to approximately 2,600 rallies across the country.

Trump’s video portrayed him wearing a crown and flying a fighter jet with “King Trump” on the side, to the tune of “Danger Zone” from the “Top Gun” soundtrack. In the 19-second clip, the animation pulled out to show the plane “bombing” New York City with a payload full of excrement.

[…]

Before Sanders made it to the stage, Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg denounced the video, amazed that it was “coming from a president!”

When Sanders joined the co-hosts to discuss the shutdown, Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Sanders what he thought the end-game was for the impasse between Republicans and Democrats over healthcare that has led to the prolonged government shutdown.

“The end game is, look—Trump may be crazy and he may be a liar and he may do —you described—I mean—hard to imagine a president—I mean, I don’t know what world these guys are living in. President of the United States dropping feces on an American city,” Sanders finally managed in disgust.

He might be “crazy,” the senator said. We’ll assume that was meant as a bit of colloquial language.

The bizarre behavior is being discussed. Also though, the Washington Post has offered this analysis piece about a widely heard claim and question:

Who pays when undocumented immigrants get health care in America?

Is it true? Is “the Democrat [sic] Party” insisting that illegal residents should be allowed to retain access to health insurance under Medicaid? Do unauthorized residents actually have access to such coverage?

As the dual headline on the piece says, the answer to those questions—and the answers to other claims which are floating around—are perhaps bit more complex than our discourse is built to address.

We expect to touch on this question as we discuss various things which were said on last Saturday evening’s three-hour version of The Big Weekend Show. Given the way our discourse now works, there’s zero chance that we the people will ever get clear on the welter of claims which get folded into this ongoing pseudo-discussion.

The Post’s analysis takes us back to a simpler time—to a time when the mainstream press corps would try to puzzle such matters out, generally without success.

What are the Democrats really demanding as part of the ongoing government shutdown? We salute the Washington Post for trying to detail this matter.

That said, given the way our imitation of discourse currently works, there is little chance that the typical voter will ever have the slightest idea how this whole thing works.

What do Democrats actually want? More on this question will follow.

  1. Are you, Bob, or anyone of your BlueAnon comrades denying that it was a joke, that video?

Now, what about the demented president's son selling, in influence-peddling exercise, "paintings" made of his own feces, for $800K each? Just a year ago.

We haven't seen a single one of you BlueAnons being "amazed" or "disgusted" by that one. Not a peep from you. It was all perfectly fine, wasn't it? But a joking video now -- horrors, horrors! Oh well.

    3. It wasn't a joke to Trump and whoever created the video. It was an expression of hostility coming from the man who is supposed to be president of the entire US citizenry. He hates us when he is supposed to be taking care of our well-being.

In early 2025, an internet rumor surfaced claiming that Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, had tried to pay a landlord with "art made with his own feces". Fact-checking sites like Snopes found no credible evidence to support the claim, noting that publicly available records contradict the central allegation. Prove me wrong douchebro cuckfuck.

  6. Trump the big pussy. "Donald Trump urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy to accept Russia’s terms for ending its war in a volatile White House meeting on Friday, warning that Vladimir Putin had said he would “destroy” Ukraine if it did not agree.

The meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents descended many times into a “shouting match”, with Trump “cursing all the time”, people familiar with the matter said.

They added that the US president tossed aside maps of the frontline in Ukraine, insisted Zelenskyy surrender the entire Donbas region to Putin, and repeatedly echoed talking points the Russian leader had made in their call a day earlier.

    Putzman.

  8. "a successful street agitator named Samuel Adams helped launch the first No Kings movement on this continent. He was quite clear about what he was doing. He wrote:

“The liberties of our country, the freedoms of our civil Constitution are worth defending at all hazards; it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors. They purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring a mark of everlasting infamy on the present generation—enlightened as it is—if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or to be cheated out of them by the artifices of designing men.”"

    1. Why are Republicans so fascinated by poop. When they wanted to insult Biden they referred to poopy drawers. Trump would say they are stuck in the anal-retentive stage, which would also explain their greed. It is only the second stage of development (not very evolved) and most children negotiate it at age 2-3 (when going through toilet training).

Republicans think poop is hilarious because their humor relieves the anxieties they themselves have around excretion. The rest of us are embarrassed for them, when we aren't snickering over their lack of insight.

  10. "What are the Democrats really demanding as part of the ongoing government shutdown?"

Both parties are lying. Dems, when they say the shutdown is about health insurance payments. Reps, when they say the shutdown is about health coverage for illegal immigrants.

In reality, the Dem motive is simply to resist whatever Trump does. And, the Rep motive is to have the government open while they negotiate.

Not a bad rule of thumb.

    2. Republicans are trying to remove the ACA subsidies that made health more affordable to poor and working class people (and many in the middle class). The Democrats are refusing to vote on a budget that removes those subsidies, causing people's health care premiums to increse by an average of two times and some as much as four times as expensive as last year. This is not rocket scienxe, as Somerby pretends. Dems want to keep healthcare affordable for most people. Republicans don't want to pay for that out of the govt budget.

This is not about giving health care to illegals. There is a current law that REQUIRES hospitals to provide emergency care (to prevent loss of life and reduce pain) to anyone who walks into an emergency room. That doesn't just include illegals, it includes people visiting the US on tourist visas, uninsured people, homeless people, criminals, legal residents, citizens who have lost their employer paid health insurance, ANYONE AT ALL. Because it is our national policy and the law states that people cannot be denied service in emergency situations, letting them die.

Some of you may recall Bessie Smith, the famous blues singer (famous in her own lifetime) who was denied urgently needed emergency room care at a white hospital because she was black, and died in her car in the South due to racial prejudice. Today's Republicans would rather save the money because they wouldn't feel any embarrassment over such a death.

    3. To clarify, illegals are not eligible to receive health care via ACA but they are eligible to receive emergency care, just as everyone else is, by virtue of being human beings in need. The law permitting that has nothing to do with the ACA subsidies.

      Delete
    4. The problem, @6:03, is that we don't have infinite amounts of money. Money spent for emergency room health care for illegal immigrants takes money away from somewhere else. That "somewhere else" is apt to be hospital solvency. E.g. Glenn County’s only hospital is set to close its doors in October. Eating the cost of ER benefits for illegals may be one reason for their insolvency.

    5. Yes, it is a matter of priorities. Oddly, the American people think their needs should be a higher priority than bailing out Argentina, for example, or giving DHS a blank check to hunt people (incuding legal residents) while ignoring natural disaster victims. Billionaires have different priorities and Trump is letting them dictate, not the people who elected him (not even the Republican voters).

Why can't America afford rural hospitals instead of fancy ballrooms and jets? Ask Trump.

Somerby doesn't think much of the "typical" voter and he doesn't think much of people in general either. Talk about elitism!

Somerby does absolutely nothing to enlighten or educate anyone reading his blog. What good is he and what gives him the right to be hyper-critical of dems while giving Fox and its followers a bye, day after day, just as he has always excused Trump (pity the child he says).
