It happens every night on Fox!

TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2024

He puts a smile on your face: Every night, at the end of the 9 o'clock hour, Sea Hannity signs off in the way he did last night:

That's all the time we have left. In the meantime, let not your heart be troubled. Greg Gutfeld is standing by to put a smile on your face.

Last night, Gutfeld opened with a string of his typical jokes.

His third joke dealt with President Biden wetting his pants. His fourth joke pictured President Biden mispronouncing the name of the country Niger.

His fifth joke concerned the topic of how annoying women are when men try to watch TV. Soon, though, he got to the kicker:

GUTFELD (3/18/24): A woman who identifies as a dog made headlines after appearing on an Australian radio show.

[PHOTO OF VERY YOUNG WOMAN WITH CAPTION, "I identify as a dog."]

That's nothing, though! In America, we have five dogs who identify as women on a TV show!

Up popped a picture of the five co-hosts of The View, producing [AUDIENCE APPLAUSE].

Get it? The five co-hosts are the dogs who identify as women!

You can enjoy the fun here.

This is the way this 59-year-old "poor immigrant" puts a smile on viewers' faces every weekday evening. He grew up in San Mateo and attended Serra High, right down the Alameda from our own Aragon High.

We've asked our question before:

How does someone from such a sunny land end up with such a crabbed, angry soul? We're only noting a tiny portion of the way Gutfeld and Watters behave on their weeknight programs, which are marketed as part of primetime "cable news."

How does a person get that way? Dylan recommended pity for such "poor immigrants," and we second that assessment.

How did Gutfeld get that way? Also, why is he on the air?

    4. @7:58 wrote, "Dic thinks criticizing Netanyahu is anti Semitic." I sure do. Here's why
      1. Criticism of Netanyahu is really criticism of Israel. There is overwhelming support among Israelis for totally defeating Hamas. Netanyahu's policy is simply Israel's policy. If Netanyahu were gone, the policy would not change.

      2. Criticism of Israel is based on a big double standard. Israel's efforts to protect Palestinian civilians are remarkable, as compared with other wars. Critics of Netanyahu should be praising him for his efforts to protect civilians. See "Israel believes that it has killed two Palestinian civilians for every Hamas militant in its intense campaign to eliminate the armed group from the Gaza Strip, a ratio an IDF spokesperson described to CNN Monday as “tremendously positive.”" https://edition.cnn.com/2023/12/05/middleeast/israel-hamas-military-civilian-ratio-killed-intl-hnk/index.html

      3. Critics of Israel, including President Biden, repeat Hamas statistics as if they were credible. Past Hamas data has never been reliable, as Israel's critics well know. Why do they repeat anti-Israel allegations they know are unreliable?

      4. A double standard is bigotry. I recall when the women's movement made that point: the standards for women in the workplace were more onerous than the standards for men. We all understood that this double standard constituted discrimination against women.

      5. Thus, the double standard against the Jewish Homeland constitutes discrimination against Jews.

    6. DIC nothing you wrote substantiates your unproven claim that criticism of Netanyahu/Israel is anti semitic.

It seems you do not know what that term even means.

Netanyahu is criticized for helping put Hamas in place and propping them up, so that when the militant wing attacks Israel, Netanyahu can than respond by murdering tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, half of whom are children.

Only a psychotic person supports Netanyahu.

    8. Unamused -- Two responses:

      1. It's fact that the Israelis elected Netanyahu. It's speculation or guess that they would vote him out of office if another election were held now.

      2. Specific criticism looks very different when done by someone within or without the group. If a black person criticized MLK for, say, infidelity. That would be one thing. But, if a white person criticized MLK, even for a valid flaw, that would be interpreted as racism.

    10. "Criticism of Biden is really criticism of the United States." What an ignorant statement that would be. Your other argument that criticism of Netanyahu from within Israel is to be construed as different than that levied by outsiders is interesting. You appear to have the inside track on the thought processes of people you know nothing about. Your MLK reference is bizarre. The analogy here is that it is valid to call an outsider who is anti-Netanyahu anti-Israel, just as one would call a Caucasian referencing MLK's infidelities racist. Since this is not the first time you have used MLK's infidelities as a theme in comments, let me ask two questions: 1) are you white, and 2) if so, where does your argument place you?

    11. And if you want to next argue that it would be wrong to label a white guy referencing MLK's infidelities as a racist, well that is checkmate against your original argument.

Gutfeld is not an immigrant. I get tired of Somerby using the word "immigrant" to besmirch the reputations of people who have actually immigrated to our country by choice, instead of being born into clueless Republican families.

You can bet that Bob Dylan was not referring to Greg Gutfeld when he wrote his song lyrics. Some of us used to like that song before Somerby ruined it by giving it tainted political allusions.

If Somerby thought of this song whenever he felt antsy about the border, he wouldn't be so frightened by right wing propaganda and Katie Britt's 20-year old sex trafficking stories. Does Somerby understand that men in those stories are the "Johns" whereas it is the women who are being forced to have sex? It is almost as if he thinks some cartel is coming to force him into slavery.

His contemporaries considered his songwriting great. His place in American music was not nostalgic in the 70's. "Like a Rolling Stone" is considered one of the best rock and roll songs ever written and placed number one on a Rolling Stone survey of music critics. You are entitled to your opinion, but not to categorize those who don't share it.

    27. Sorry about my post above. I misread your intent about discussing the management fees.

      Delete
    28. Management fees are why the hedge fund industry exists. The turnover of hedge funds due to failure is impressive, they have less than 10% viabilty. Felix Salmon (economist) did a study of the hedge fund industry as a whole a number of years ago and found that investors paid out much more in management fees than they made in profits. For the time span he studied, which was over a decade, hedge fund cost to investors was circa 440 billion dollars more than their investments paid out. With a few notable exceptions like Ray Dalio and the like, hedge funds are generally a scam on rich people, and the American public for their tax rates.

      Delete
    29. Kushner gets management fees year after year. Therefore the tens of millions of free cash Jim and Hunter Biden took in from China wasn't sleazy influence peddling. It was for their hard work and expertise.

    30. Bobulinski, who is (again) next up to bat after the star witness/Russian colluder fell out of the line up for Comer, should have completed his 15 minutes of stardom in 2020 after a reporter for Fox News, of all places, went through all of the emails he said were evidence against Biden and summarized that there was nothing there. Later on Bubo told the authorities that he had three cell phones worth of text messages that bore out his accusations, but when he was ask to supply them to copy the texts he of course refused. So stepping up to the plate is a player who has struck out twice. And this is their cleanup hitter?
