A flyweight took over from there: Last evening, on the Fox News Channel, Sean Hannity ended his "cable news" program as he always does:
HANNITY (1/30/25): Let not your heart be troubled. Why? Greg Gutfeld is up next to put a smile on your face. Have a great night!
Just like that, the 60-year-old Gutfeld was up. After accepting applause from the studio audience, this was the first way he put that smile on our faces:
GUTFELD (1/30/25): Danish scientists have discovered a patch of 66 million-year-old vomit that is being hailed as a national treasure.
That beats us! In America, all we had was an 81-year-old piece of crap in the White House.
[LAUGHTER, APPLAUSE]
As he typically does, he opened with a short string of such jokes.
The theme of his second joke? Joy Behar is too fat.
The theme of his third joke? The five (5) women of The View aren't sexually attractive.
The theme of his fourth joke? Governor Pritzker (D-Ill.) is too fat.
After a Chappaquiddick joke, the mirth continued. After several jokes whose themes we couldn't quite decipher, the theme of his eighth joke was this:
CNN's Brian Stelter is too fat.
This is who, and this is what, these idiots actually are. Blue America's unimpressive elites have never come up with a way to report or discuss this societal problem.
Inevitably, he closed with a "nailing the nanny" joke. This is who these flyweights are. Also, this is the world we've enabled.
Trump released an army of violent criminals when he pardoned the J6ers.
ReplyDeleteSure enough, a resulting crime wave has ensued, including multiples deaths directly caused by those pardoned.
Not to mention all the plane crashes. He's really messing up the country.
DeleteSince the audience likes it, he keeps at it. It's for the money, he's getting rich and so is fox
ReplyDeleteIf the NyTimes told people how vulgar Gutfeld is, I’m afraid he would gain viewers. I am embarrassed that so many of my fellow conservatives watch this garbage.
DeleteTrump has imposed tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China. If any Canadian, Mexican, or Chinese exporters want to be exempt from the tariffs, all they have to do is bribe Trump. He can’t be prosecuted, and Republicans will never impeach him.
ReplyDelete"Blue America's unimpressive elites have never come up with a way to report or discuss this societal problem."
ReplyDeleteOur Host makes the complaint with regularity. He rarely offers us details of how, where, and when "Blue America's elites" should tackle the necessary chore. The boundaries of the shirking irresponsible group is similarly vague.
Sometimes it seems as if "Blue America" is only a default designation for anyone and everyone who isn't actively shovelling in the Fox barnyard.
Does the New York Times or the Washington Post owe readers an analysis of Gutfeld's smutty presentations? Does NBC News? How about online outlets like the Daily Beast?
I suppose the ambition of such coverage would be to alert the world to the poor performance going on on Murdoch's farm. But then what?
"Does the New York Times or the Washington Post owe readers an analysis of Gutfeld's smutty presentations?"
DeleteIt seems to me that it's fit news to print, since it's a significant part of the process that is paving the path to authoritarianism. But Krugman tells us that NYT opinion writers are forbidden to broach the topic. Forbidden.
The NYTimes is not NPR or BS. They have the right to dictate their content. Krugman quit, so he made his point. Now you can support him by subscribing to his substack. I do.
DeleteAlert the media! Fox tells unfunny political jokes!
ReplyDeleteIt's not simply that they're not funny. They're deeply unfunny and vulgar.
Delete1st Ammendment protects it. Why does Somerby watch Fox?
