OU BOUM: You have to watch Gutfeld!, Matthews said!

TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2025

Here's what was said last evening: We lost a large chunk of time today. Safely returned to our sprawling campus, we're happy to be able to praise the ongoing work of Chris Matthews.

Chris has been doing excellent work in recent Morning Joe spots. Yesterday, in the 7 o'clock hour, he did something we've seen no one else do:

In effect, he said Blue America has to start watching the Gutfeld! show to know what's goin' on. More specifically, he said this:

You have to watch Gutfeld! at night. There's nothing serious about it...

Before yesterday morning, we'd never heard anyone reference this poisonous, braindead program. If you can still make the Internet Archive's service work, you can access Matthews' full statement simply by clicking here.

We agree with the gist of what Matthews said! More specifically, to understand the size of the ongoing "night assault," you really do have to watch the Gutfeld! program.

The misogyny is undisguised. Also, quite routinely, you'll enjoy such fare as this:

GUTFELD (3/17/25): A man that Washington Governor Jay Inslee gave clemency to was caught with enough fentanyl to kill nearly 300,000 people.

Joe Biden wasn't impressed, saying, "Hey, I pardoned a guy who killed ten times that.

AUDIENCE: {MIXED REACTION, APPLAUSE]

GUTFELD: Oooooh...

So it went last evening at 10:01, during the program's handful of opening jokes. After that, the host expressed his views on an array of topics, with four panelists rushing to say they agreed with every word.

The misogyny is undisguised on this show; so is poisonous fare of that type. All in all, it makes a nice package:

President Trump has stripped Dr. Fauci of his federal protection. Gutfeld helps out by telling millions of viewers that Fauci killed millions of people.

In our view, Blue America hasn't yet come to terms with the depth, or with the full intent, of the ongoing "night assault." That said, something is badly wrong with the poisonous Mr. Greg Gutfeld.

Something seems to be wrong with this furious guy—but then again, so what? At 10 p.m. every evening (that's 7 p.m. on the west coast), Suzanne Scott pries the lid off the garbage can and turns this nightmare loose.

Tomorrow morning, full services resume at this site. Blue America needs to come to terms with the true shape of this prime time "cable news" show.

Fauci killed three million people! After a moment of uncertainty, the audience began to applaud.

This is one part of the night assault. Will someone wake the New York Times? Is Mediaite alive on the earth?

    8. I’m not sure how that conflicts with what Musk has claimed about offering to go get the team. I understand how it would take considerable effort in replanning and much more money to get them down sooner, but it’s this taxpayer’s opinion that sooner rather than later would have been worth it, if possible.

      Delete
    9. 1. It shows their return was planned and they weren’t abandoned. 2. Given that they were not stranded but were doing their job, the idea that they needed to be rescued sooner is bogus, Trump’s invented lie. 3. Musk is irrelevant, not a hero.

      Delete
    10. Anonymouse 9:07pm, the problems they experienced weren’t planned. That they weren’t stranded is the point. They were certainly stuck up there for months until it was more economically and logistically convenient to go get them. That didn’t have to be, and it’s not unreasonable to question that decision.

      Delete
    11. This was ginned up as a problem by Trump. It is bogus.

      Delete
    12. Anonymouse 9:21om, had they planned on the malfunction? It’s only ginned up if you think it was fine to leave them in space for 9.5 months based upon their reasoning that made their stay way beyond the eight days that had been planned. Other people’s mileage may vary.

      Delete
    13. The spacecraft suffered multiple propulsion system helium leaks and thruster problems during rendezvous with the space station, and NASA eventually decided to keep them on the station and to bring the Starliner down, without its crew, by remote control. Biden didn’t abandon them and Musk didn’t rescue them. It was safer to bring the capsule down empty than to risk their lives, then it took time to safely bring them back.

      Delete
    14. Anonymouse 9:59pm, Musk offered to bring them back sooner via SpaceX. The explanation as to why NASA didn’t allow it is that Musk’s plan was costly and they’d pick them up on the next trip which was months down the road.

    17. Former astronaut Kelly said:

Bret, before I talk about that, let me say something. I was watching your previous program, The Five, and they’re talking about abandoned– they were stranded by President Biden. That is not true. They have had a spacecraft up there since September that was going to bring them home. They have always had a ride home and the decision to keep them up there had nothing to do with politics, it was just the fact that you need crew members to operate the space station and they were the two that were there, and you had to send up a vehicle with two empty seats, so the safest thing to do was to just leave them there. But they weren’t stranded. They always had a ride home.

    19. Musk thinks it’s untenable to have allowed two astronauts to wait it out in space for 91/2 months, which does have deleterious mental and physical effects, but that’s a non-issue. However, ending up in a cell after flying into Mexico and coming into the US via a revoked visa is unspeakably cruel.

    20. "I’m not sure how that conflicts with what Musk has claimed about offering to go get the team."

    21. "Ironic that Musk didn’t care about savings or efficiency when Biden was president."

It's not ironic. It's an enormous victory for all Americans. The huge and growing national debt threatens the continuation of the country. President after President has acknowledged fraud an waste and promised to fix it. How did the Biden/Harris Administration do? They accomplished nothing.

OTOH of all the people on Earth, Musk is uniquely qualified to deal with this problem. Biden didn't didn't get a highly capable person to lead his effort. Trump did, thank goodness!

    24. This is what makes the right stupid Cecelia, "Musk thinks it’s untenable to have allowed two astronauts to wait it out in space for 91/2 months, which does have deleterious mental and physical effects" - is that the same Musk who wants astronauts in space for three years for a useless manned trip to mars? So stupid. Also too, as well, a Rooskie and an American were in space longer than those two. The American is now working for Musk. His knick name is Big Balls, a side effect from his overtime in space. So stupidly stupid.

      Delete
    25. Being stuck in space for 9 months because mentally deranged Democrats don’t want to give Elon Musk a win is not the same as voluntarily spending three years in space on the way to Mars.

Reapplying for a work visa is not the same as trying to enter with an expired work visa, the way Cecelia put it.

She was not accused of any wrongdoing. That is the point too -- to be treated in such a harsh manner without being accused of doing anything wrong. That is not how people trying to enter our country should be treated. If we didn't want to admit her, then she could have stayed in Mexico. Why was she detained at all? Detained means held in custody, arrested so that she cannot even stay where she was, in Mexico.
