Here's what was said last evening: We lost a large chunk of time today. Safely returned to our sprawling campus, we're happy to be able to praise the ongoing work of Chris Matthews.
Chris has been doing excellent work in recent Morning Joe spots. Yesterday, in the 7 o'clock hour, he did something we've seen no one else do:
In effect, he said Blue America has to start watching the Gutfeld! show to know what's goin' on. More specifically, he said this:
You have to watch Gutfeld! at night. There's nothing serious about it...
Before yesterday morning, we'd never heard anyone reference this poisonous, braindead program. If you can still make the Internet Archive's service work, you can access Matthews' full statement simply by clicking here.
We agree with the gist of what Matthews said! More specifically, to understand the size of the ongoing "night assault," you really do have to watch the Gutfeld! program.
The misogyny is undisguised. Also, quite routinely, you'll enjoy such fare as this:
GUTFELD (3/17/25): A man that Washington Governor Jay Inslee gave clemency to was caught with enough fentanyl to kill nearly 300,000 people.
Joe Biden wasn't impressed, saying, "Hey, I pardoned a guy who killed ten times that.
AUDIENCE: {MIXED REACTION, APPLAUSE]
GUTFELD: Oooooh...
So it went last evening at 10:01, during the program's handful of opening jokes. After that, the host expressed his views on an array of topics, with four panelists rushing to say they agreed with every word.
The misogyny is undisguised on this show; so is poisonous fare of that type. All in all, it makes a nice package:
President Trump has stripped Dr. Fauci of his federal protection. Gutfeld helps out by telling millions of viewers that Fauci killed millions of people.
In our view, Blue America hasn't yet come to terms with the depth, or with the full intent, of the ongoing "night assault." That said, something is badly wrong with the poisonous Mr. Greg Gutfeld.
Something seems to be wrong with this furious guy—but then again, so what? At 10 p.m. every evening (that's 7 p.m. on the west coast), Suzanne Scott pries the lid off the garbage can and turns this nightmare loose.
Tomorrow morning, full services resume at this site. Blue America needs to come to terms with the true shape of this prime time "cable news" show.
Fauci killed three million people! After a moment of uncertainty, the audience began to applaud.
This is one part of the night assault. Will someone wake the New York Times? Is Mediaite alive on the earth?
No one watches this shit.
ReplyDeleteJust 2,500,000/nightly. Nothing as large as the audience that reads your comments.
DeleteAnd yet, you read the comment, Cecelia. Not only that, but you took the time to comment on it. Comedy gold.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:21pm, sure did, and I voluntarily read the blog. That’s the point.
DeleteI’m glad you take the time to read all of our comments, while deriding us for commenting. You could ignore them, but you’re too ridiculously triggered by them. You can’t help yourself. I pity you, really do.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:34pm, I’m glad that you’re glad. I enjoy doing it.Anonymouse thinking makes that easy and begs for it.
DeleteI’m anti- feminist, but I’m not a misogynist.
DeleteI am glad that Cecelia is glad that you are glad that Cecelia is glad. I am sad about Cecelia though, really bad news. He had it coming though.
DeleteSomerby pretending to care about misogyny. That’s a laugh.
ReplyDeleteAnonymouse 5:32pm is deeply concerned for the men who experience misogyny.
DeleteSays the woman named Cecelia who voted for the sexual assaulter, misogynist, and close personal friend of Jeffrey Epstein., who, by the way, liked ‘em really young, according to Donny. Oh yeah, where are those Epstein files? Hmmmmmmmm.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:25pm, you ought to make that spiel your screen name and put a period after it. It’s all you’ve got.
DeleteNo, it isn’t. I’ve got a lot more. You can’t escape the fact of who you voted for, regardless of what you think of me.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:31pm, why would I try to escape anything? I couldn’t care how you feel about my voting history?
DeleteEveryone is aware that you don’t care that you voted for a sexual assaulter and felon. Sociopaths don’t typically feel shame.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:36pm, I don’t care that you care.you pretend to care about misogyny too. Until Bob writes about a misogynistic national tv show.
DeleteI don't care that you don't care that he doesn't care, but I would care about misogyny if you weren't a man, so why would you care what I care?
DeleteCecelia doesn't care one whit what anyone thinks about her.
DeleteNow, pull my other finger.
Watch Gutfeld to find out he’s as bad as expected, but then what? Alerting the press is not a solution. We already boycott the show. Maybe boycott his advertisers? But Somerby has no plan for dealing with shit like Gutfeld except to repeat it. How does that help?
ReplyDeleteAnonymouse 5:35pm, how do you help anyone by running your mouth at this site? Why are you here? Bob is a blogger who writes on the media. He’s arguing that the regime media should be calling out the tawdry humor of Gutfeld!.
DeleteOh boy. “The regime media” correct me if I’m wrong, but the “regime” as currently constituted is run in an authoritarian manner by Republicans at every level.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:29pm, you can include Fox in the regime media, but is a part of the whole. But that’s beside the point as to why Bob discusses Gutfeld. You know the reason he does, but you think it’s superfluous, but you’re here anyway. So why are you here?
DeletePerhaps because I’m not the commenter who posted the original comment at 5:35.
DeleteAnonymouse 7:41pm, oh, but you are. You are anonymous. There are no distinctions among you. That’s how you want it to be.
DeleteI too am anonymous, but I’m neither of the others.
DeleteAnonymouse 8:25pm, two or 102, you’re all of them.
DeleteI am Anonymous Shiva, creator and destroyer of all anonymooses.
DeleteThe night assault” is not Gutfeld. It is rounding up innocent people, putting them on planes, then locking them up incommunicado. Disappearing them.
ReplyDeleteSomerby has odd nightmares about bad comics. The rest of us have nightmares about losing our jobs and pensions.
ReplyDeleteGutfeld is funny. Knowing how hard he triggers Democrats makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteSomerby is triggered, but not because he is a Democrat.
DeleteAnonymouse 5:38pm, no, you only care about trolling Bob.
DeleteI care about our country and its people, which is more than you do.
Delete"Gutfeld is funny."
DeleteThat old right wing, Know Nothing humor.
The mainstream, corporate-owned, Right-wing media (AKA the media) media are way funnier than Gutfeld could even think of being.
DeleteDid you hear the one about the Republican voter who isn't a bigot?
It's a laugh riot.
DeleteI haven't seen a single Democrat who wasn't a Soros-monkey.
And seeing millions of Soros-monkeys is not funny. It's sad.
Soros-bot at 7:28, is in desperate need of a software update.
DeleteWhatever time Somerby lost this morning wasn’t enough.
ReplyDeleteWasn’t Somerby going to talk about “allegedly” this afternoon?
ReplyDeleteI'd cancel my subscription.
DeleteThere is something called "integrity".
DeleteAnonymouse 6:33pm, you spent the whole afternoon writing a post in counter to Bob’s promoted subject and he let you down.
DeleteI always get a kick out of that.
No one wrote anything, including Somerby.
DeleteI always get a kick out of reminding everyone that Republican voters tried to overthrow the U.S. Capitol just because black people's votes counted in the 2020 Presidential election.
DeleteSome times, for good measure, I like to remind them Republican voters didn't make a peep of protest, when Trump gave that HUGE tax break to the rich and corporations.
People can see for themselves, what drives Republican voters. (Hint: Rhymes with shmigotry.)
On the other hand Republican voters gave me and every other Soros-monkey a free one-way ticket to El Salvador.
DeleteI am so happy! Thank you, Republican voters!
At this point, there isn't anyone who doesn't know the Republican Party is nothing but a shit pile of bigots, wrapped in white grievance.
DeleteIn the words of everyone but the corporate-owned media, "Fuck those clowns."
Beautiful splashdown by Elon Musk's Dragon spacecraft in the Gulf of America.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elon for rescuing these astronauts stranded for 9 months by Democrats for political reasons.
Cue more Tesla terrorism by mentally deranged, unhinged, violent Democrats.
Delete"Hey Hey ho ho government efficiency has go to go!"
DeleteUnloved losers.
Musk should cut the unnecessary waste of a space station and constant flights to and from.
DeleteBut I guess he’d rather cut children’s and poor peoples’ health programs and social security for retirees. You go, Elon.
One of you very stable geniuses needs to explain how Government expenditures have gone up while these unelected assclowns strip efficiency out of Government programs. Their work is having the opposite effect of desired outcomes... OR IS IT???? Keep sucking on demented Donnie's ass-fumes hosers.
DeleteExplain how the astronauts were stranded by politics or quit your insipid lying.
Delete"Wilmore and Williams will continue their work formally as part of the Expedition 71/72 crew through February 2025. They will fly home aboard a Dragon spacecraft with two other crew members assigned to the agency’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission."
Delete--NASA news release, August 24, 2024
The astronauts' return has been scheduled since August of last year. SpaceX was actually a month behind schedule getting them home. Didn't stop Trump from nonsensically claiming credit for a "rescue." though.
DeleteI’m not sure how that conflicts with what Musk has claimed about offering to go get the team. I understand how it would take considerable effort in replanning and much more money to get them down sooner, but it’s this taxpayer’s opinion that sooner rather than later would have been worth it, if possible.
Delete1. It shows their return was planned and they weren’t abandoned. 2. Given that they were not stranded but were doing their job, the idea that they needed to be rescued sooner is bogus, Trump’s invented lie. 3. Musk is irrelevant, not a hero.
DeleteAnonymouse 9:07pm, the problems they experienced weren’t planned. That they weren’t stranded is the point. They were certainly stuck up there for months until it was more economically and logistically convenient to go get them. That didn’t have to be, and it’s not unreasonable to question that decision.
DeleteThis was ginned up as a problem by Trump. It is bogus.
DeleteAnonymouse 9:21om, had they planned on the malfunction? It’s only ginned up if you think it was fine to leave them in space for 9.5 months based upon their reasoning that made their stay way beyond the eight days that had been planned. Other people’s mileage may vary.
DeleteThe spacecraft suffered multiple propulsion system helium leaks and thruster problems during rendezvous with the space station, and NASA eventually decided to keep them on the station and to bring the Starliner down, without its crew, by remote control. Biden didn’t abandon them and Musk didn’t rescue them. It was safer to bring the capsule down empty than to risk their lives, then it took time to safely bring them back.
DeleteAnonymouse 9:59pm, Musk offered to bring them back sooner via SpaceX. The explanation as to why NASA didn’t allow it is that Musk’s plan was costly and they’d pick them up on the next trip which was months down the road.
DeleteIronic that Musk didn’t care about savings or efficiency when Biden was president.
DeleteAnonymouse 10:15pm, it’s not ironic, he’s a colleague of NASA which includes its astronauts. It’s like the impetus the U.S. navy would have in getting stranded British servicemen off an island.
DeleteFormer astronaut Kelly said:
DeleteBret, before I talk about that, let me say something. I was watching your previous program, The Five, and they’re talking about abandoned– they were stranded by President Biden. That is not true. They have had a spacecraft up there since September that was going to bring them home. They have always had a ride home and the decision to keep them up there had nothing to do with politics, it was just the fact that you need crew members to operate the space station and they were the two that were there, and you had to send up a vehicle with two empty seats, so the safest thing to do was to just leave them there. But they weren’t stranded. They always had a ride home.
Anonymouse 10:26pm, lather, rinse, repeat.
DeleteMusk thinks it’s untenable to have allowed two astronauts to wait it out in space for 91/2 months, which does have deleterious mental and physical effects, but that’s a non-issue. However, ending up in a cell after flying into Mexico and coming into the US via a revoked visa is unspeakably cruel.
Delete"I’m not sure how that conflicts with what Musk has claimed about offering to go get the team."
DeleteMaybe it doesn't conflict with what Musk claimed. It certainly conflicts with what Trump claims.
"Ironic that Musk didn’t care about savings or efficiency when Biden was president."
DeleteIt's not ironic. It's an enormous victory for all Americans. The huge and growing national debt threatens the continuation of the country. President after President has acknowledged fraud an waste and promised to fix it. How did the Biden/Harris Administration do? They accomplished nothing.
OTOH of all the people on Earth, Musk is uniquely qualified to deal with this problem. Biden didn't didn't get a highly capable person to lead his effort. Trump did, thank goodness!
David, Trump ran up the biggest increase in the debt in history. He threatens to do it again with the most recent gop budget. You should be under no illusion that he cares about it.
DeleteMusk, whose spacex gets millions from the government, surely paid for the rescue himself, no? Meanwhile, children are hungry and dying because of cuts he’s making. Nicholas Kristof has a recent piece about this.
DeleteThis is what makes the right stupid Cecelia, "Musk thinks it’s untenable to have allowed two astronauts to wait it out in space for 91/2 months, which does have deleterious mental and physical effects" - is that the same Musk who wants astronauts in space for three years for a useless manned trip to mars? So stupid. Also too, as well, a Rooskie and an American were in space longer than those two. The American is now working for Musk. His knick name is Big Balls, a side effect from his overtime in space. So stupidly stupid.
DeleteBeing stuck in space for 9 months because mentally deranged Democrats don’t want to give Elon Musk a win is not the same as voluntarily spending three years in space on the way to Mars.
DeleteDemocrats are unable to make these distinctions because they’re stupid.
I’ve never been in space, but I have big balls because I dream of Cecelia.
DeleteDavid, when did you decide you don't like democracy anymore?
DeleteYesterday, three different federal judges ruled on different issues that president Musk acted unconstitutionally. You're a fucking fascist now. You don't even deny it. You clap like a fucking trained seal.
David's been a fascist for at least 8 years now, per his postings at TDH.
DeleteMao's TLS is consuming him, and leaving nothing but a puddle of shit.
DeleteMao is dead. Long live Mao.
DeleteSomerby should explain what he means by "ou boom". It isn't obvious.
ReplyDelete“ What a surprise. Putin rejects an unconditional cease-fire. He wants to keep bombing and killing innocent Ukrainians. He wants Ukraine disarmed. He wants to make Ukraine a vassal state of Russia. He isn’t negotiating. He’s laughing at us.”

Well Boris your country has nukes go stop him from laughing!!
DeleteHere is the story of how Canadian tourists are being treated at our border:
ReplyDeletehttps://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/3/18/2311098/-Why-No-Canadian-Should-Ever-Cross-the-U-S-Border-Unless-Absolutely-Necessary?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=trending&pm_medium=web
This person was not an illegal or any kind of immigrant, not a criminal and did nothing to deserve this except fill out paperwork incorrectly, as people sometimes do. Note how she was treated while detained for two weeks.
This is how third world dictatorships operate.
Did she have a valid Visa to cross over from the Mexican border or not?
DeleteCanadians get a visa upon entry, just as Americans do when entering Canada or Mexico. Read the article. Would lacking a visa justify the way she was treated in detention? Read those details.
DeleteAnonymouse 10:02pm, she had an expired work visa and was coming in thru Mexico.
DeleteAnd that justified making her sleep without blankets on a concrete floor? That is paperwork, not criminal activity.
DeleteAnonymouse 10:23pm, no, you hope it’s just a matter of paperwork when you are in a foreign country and then cross another country’s border on an expired work visa. You hope it works out, but you should know that there aren’t any guarantees.
DeleteLiberals have been calling illegal immigrants "Undocumented". Thus they muddle the difference between illegal immigrants and immigrants who lack some document.
DeleteWell, this person was an undocumented immigrant
This shit ain't normal dip shit Cecelia because border agents are trained to work with people with paper mistakes kindly. Like when my customer screwed up my work visa in Brazil; or I said the wrong word in Toronto. I never set foot out of the Sao Paulo airport except to fly home. But I had my suitcase and a place to eat, sleep, and bath. Toronto took awhile, but after fours hour of questions they let me in. Officials only treat folks like shit when the boss green lights, and that is what is so fuck up with this regime.
DeleteThere’s no other conclusion: Republicans like the cruelty. As long as it isn’t directed at them personally.
DeleteImagine blowing up Tesla dealerships and preaching about third world dictatorships.
DeleteIncidents like this wouldn’t happen if Canada would accept President Trump’s generous offer and become our beautiful fifty-first state.
DeleteSome of us don't need to imagine blowing up Tesla dealerships, Soros-bot.
Delete"Writing in The Guardian, Jasmine Mooney described being taken into custody while she was reapplying for a work visa despite the fact that officials never accused her of any wrongdoing."
DeleteReapplying for a work visa is not the same as trying to enter with an expired work visa, the way Cecelia put it.
She was not accused of any wrongdoing. That is the point too -- to be treated in such a harsh manner without being accused of doing anything wrong. That is not how people trying to enter our country should be treated. If we didn't want to admit her, then she could have stayed in Mexico. Why was she detained at all? Detained means held in custody, arrested so that she cannot even stay where she was, in Mexico.
Why should anyone believe someone named "Jasmine Mooney" (not to mention any words published by a globalist rag "The Guardian"), when every idiot-Democrat is publicly refusing to believe the American President and every highest American official?

ReplyDeleteTo which Trump said " Hey, within 24 hours of my inauguration, I pardoned Ross Ulbricht!".
Nothing at all suspicious about that move.
ReplyDelete"Fauci killed three million people! "
It's nice that his pardon, granted by no one knows whom, is now considered null and void. So, hopefully, he will be able to confront this accusation in court.
Because otherwise -- considering that Fauci did get a pardon -- this (or any other) accusation appears to be undeniable.
Some idiot asked me if I heard what Trump said about something or other. As if a thinking person would listen to a word Trump says.
ReplyDeleteIt truly, takes all kinds.
